I for some reason don't have a completed StarTropics save file on the computer that I am currently using, so I used some emulator trickery to quickly get to the locations I wanted to take screenshots of. As for your next set of questions: 1: Pointy Ears 2. Rare 3. I was thinking about this one for a few minutes (and about how it's debatable since you can fall into some boar-filled areas multiple times, and some of the areas are even randomized) although after re-reading the question I am happy to report that the answer is zero. 4. Based on the appearance of the building, I believe that it is the British Museum? 5: ? 6: ? 7: Ultra Psychic Shockwave 8: Cactus Dance? Thanks for even more awesome questions Coralcola! I have thought of a few questions of my own, although I want to double check some of my answers before I post them. So stay tuned!

Welcome to the forum! It is always great to see new people get into the series, and I never even considered that it may be difficult for people to play the game these days due to the Wii Shop Channel being pretty much obsolete. Nintendo really needs to hurry up and get StarTropics on the eShop, especially the 3DS one! We aren't always the most active bunch, although I hope that you will stick around! E3 is just around the corner, so it's just about time for everyone to get their hopes up once again for even a hint of ST. We can dream, can't we?

#6: The true 2nd oldest lady on Howduyadu-cola #7: Those were some awesome questions Coralcola! Thank you for resurrecting such an old yet awesome thread, I may have to think up some more myself haha!

That looks awesome! Just imagining what a StarTropics game would look like on any console other than the NES is super cool. It really is a shame that it seems like Mike is doomed to stay officially 8-bit for all eternity.

It's always awesome to see new StarTropics related artwork pop up!

Anything that involves palm trees along with the night sky of course immediately reminds me of StarTropics. There really isn't any better place to look up at the stars than on the beach.

I always wondered if there was a StarTropics prototype floating around out there somewhere, so it is really awesome to hear that there is! It would have been cool if it was from an earlier point in development however, I would love to see some beta ST level design, graphics, and who knows what else. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

If you've worked with hexadecimal or binary coding before, you can definitely relate to what he says near the end. Including an extra 0 by accident can make an entire civilization's worth of a difference... Haha absolutely! As he mentions in the video though, it is really strange that it would be corrupted like that unless the music was written in manually. I almost wonder if someone decided to take the bass out on purpose, as the song still sounds really nice without it.

So apparently two of the music tracks in our favorite game are actually broken! I always thought that the background sound on the overworld map sounded a little bit strange, although the music from the Mica conversation being broken came as a complete surprise. I always thought that it was a great track before, although being able to hear it how it was intended to be really is awesome! It's incredible just what kinds of things can be discovered in old games so many years after they were released!

Wow Mitch welcome back! It's good to finally see you around here again, I'm glad that you haven't forgotten about us. We've been discussing this a bit in the other Super Smash Bros. thread. It's great to see that the vote has brought back so many olbies.

I am super glad to hear that you like it! The only problem with adding more detail to the background image is that because it is repeated multiple times throughout the page (depending on monitor size, page length, etc.) there could be instances where you would see the Southern Cross more than once, which might be a bit strange. I'm not actually sure if there are ways to work around that or not.

So today I finally got around to doing something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. The C-Island Forum now has more than one board theme to choose from! We had one that covered the 'tropics' part of StarTropics, although I think it's only right that we should have one which covers the 'star' part as well. You can check it out by going to Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Forum Theme. It actually reminds me a bit of the ezBoard days, for those who were around back then. So enjoy! And be sure to leave any feedback that you may have down below.

Welcome back startropicsmaster! It certainly has been awhile. Something tells me that those stats in your signature are a "little" bit outdated! Edit: Actually, I see that you have updated it with the Old School stats now. I know that your main game account is exceedingly better than that haha.

Just voted, and had to spend about 10 minutes editing down my paragraph in order to meet the 500 character maximum. Let's give it everything we've got!

As far as 2015 goes, I'm definitely looking forward to the new Wii U Zelda game. After Twilight Princess, I have to admit that I was kind of all Zelda'ed out, as I didn't play Skyward Sword (I was pretty done with the Wii by that point) or A Link Between Worlds (I had a whole bunch of other games that I was playing at the time so never ended up picking it up). With what they've shown, I hope that the new game is really innovative and brings a lot of new things to the table, while being a very fun experience overall. Let's also hope that the world really is as big and expansive as they are making it out to be, Wind Waker's ability to let you sail around and visit tons of different islands whenever you wanted is still one of my favorite things in any video game to date!
