Apples to Apples is fun too, but after getting Cards Against Humanity, A2A has been collecting dust. I also watch Tabletop on Geek and Sundry with Wil Wheaton with some regularity. I recommend if anybody here like board games to check them out (Ticket to Ride and Star Fluxx have been two of my favorite episodes so far): geekandsundry.com/shows/tabletop/Interesting you mention creating your own board game Scotty. In my closet (somewhere, next to the dead parrot and dodo skeletons) is a board game I made in 8th grade for a math project. It was entitled "Magical Squares" and involved using algebra to help solve a classic Magic Square setup. I adored math as a child (and to this day)... Maybe I should make educational video games for a living...

Simple question: Who here watches Archer on FX? If you don't... you need to start. That is all. P.S. I've watched it since its premiere, and I can honestly say it's one of the few shows on TV that has, over 6 years, has managed to stay just as fresh, unpredictable, and funny as it was since the beginning.

So in the past few years, I've gotten back into playing a lot of board games and card games with my posse. Cards Against Humanity and Settlers of Catan have been the two favorites. Fluxx has been pretty popular, as well as the Back to the Future card game.
I collect game show board games too, including old ones from the 50's and 60's, which are usually rare and sometimes not in the best of shape anymore. Anybody actually "collect" board games at all?

You all have dirty minds... What new games are you guys looking forward to getting in 2015, or older games you want to get but have put on standby? Naturally, my list has Zelda Wii U (since I got my Wii U on Black Friday), plus if Halo 5 gets good enough reviews, it may spurn me to get an XBone to play it... maybe... no guarantees. I'll probably end up getting Evolve for it too if I do get an XBone, but the backwards compatibility issue with all the 360 games I already own is a major pisser... Older games that I still want to get, but haven't yet, include Rogue Legacy, Shovel Knight, Mario Kart 8, and possibly Mario Party 9, though I've heard Wii Party U is supposed to be decent, anybody played it yet and can share an opinion?

I just got a Twitch account this past year. I followed all of you guys. My SN on there is Coralcola (cue the "not surprised" SFX). I haven't streamed anything yet (don't have the recording software to pull anything from my TV), but maybe it'll happen in the near future... P.S. Good to see ya Zodastone!

I saw them play it on Screwattack Live last week, and it looked great. It kinda reminds me of a mix between Halo and... Monster Hunter? If I had an XBone, I'd consider getting it, but the only newer system I have is a Wii U, and I think I'll be happy with just that for the foreseeable future.

I saw that too today! *I'm ChiefCoralcola on Youtube and Google+" There were quite a few comments (between the "Waah, Grumps didn't finish ABC") along the lines of "YAY STARTROPICS" and "ST is my favorite game, awesome!" I replied to a couple of them and hawked the forum a bit, hopefully I won't get too blasted by the trolls there...

I missed this! Not bad with 72 votes, it's more than I thought it would've gotten. Will Miyamoto actually read these? Don't think so. *Sigh* It's almost as if we need to place a James Bond-esque style double agent inside Nintendo who can start dropping hints an ST3 would be an interesting idea for them to undertake.

Mostly ditto what Scotty said. I wouldn't go the son/daughter route with Mike just yet as I think there's a lot more character that can be fleshed out with him... Maybe wait until ST 6 or 7 or so for when we can talk about his marriage to Mica and babies... The motion controls of modern games I felt would have been the perfect... uh... gimmick to do a ST3-type game with the yo-yo's return. I'd actually go so far as to say also bring the Psychic Shockwave back too. Baseball bats, horsehides (aka... BASEBALLS), etc. are the perfect kind of weapons to exploit these controls with... they're all in the original game, and can fit with Mike being set as a general all-American kind of kid. He can even listen to some old-fashioned rock n' roll (like the Beach Boys and Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow)... actually anything except Miley Cyrus would be okay... As for the game's tone, the best comparison I can make is to imagine "a realistic-graphic version of Windwaker." The traveling would be via Sub-c instead of the dragon boat... thingy, and there would be transports on various islands that would warp you to Seattle and Argonia (which, yes, I believe should be playable areas too!). Either that, or Sub-C should become Space-C when appropriate and just handle your all-around inter-tropical transportation needs!© Coralcola 2014 I'd also want there to be an element of Cryptology in the game in some form, as it's a driving force in the series, but I'm not sure how to do it yet and not freak kids and some gamers out with the "OMGdezmaths are hard" associated with it. (Which is possibly why I should never make a game on my own, it'd probably feel too much like math class). I'll stop there before this turns into a thesis.

Has anybody played this game? FYI: www.havenandhearth.com/portal/I saw ProJared do a mini-review on it and got curious enough to try it. It's ADDICTING and a major time-killer. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe it's the same kind of curiosity/exploration/finding new things concepts that made ST, Zelda, etc. so great. IF you haven't played it, it has a lot of aspects: a lot of different skills to upgrade, curiosities to research, different environment types... BUT... everything you do is permanent. Yes, it's one of those games. Here's Jared's video if you want more info: www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6fIyvNvpXUP.S.: I've been watching a lot of ProJared's stuff, his sense of humor strikes a nerve in me. If you haven't seen any of his videos, I highly recommend them!

Welcome! Great to hear you've discovered the series and liked it. Check out the StarTropics 3 fan-game here and see what you think of that too.

Those are darn close to those in the game itself. Many kudos!
