So it is unlikely (though gellin is more than welcome to prove and/or tell me that I'm wrong) that further updates/edits/assistance with the ST3 level editor will be happening. gellin is busy with his work in professional game development, plus he has a family, so there's no time for him to work on this, despite of course his desire and wishes to. This site has been around for over a decade, and our priorities and time commitments have changed significantly since when this all started. So that video is pretty much what the extent of the ST3 vids there are on Youtube, as far as I've ever seen. I'm sure gellin would have no problem if you wanted to add more videos to your channel that feature it, as long as him and the website are credited appropriately.

I started playing with a group of friends from high school (oy... that was 12 years ago) about a year and a half ago. We mostly have played using 3.5e rules. I've already been through 3 different campaigns. My first character was a Dragonborne barb named Shadax (from Solstice), who originally came from the Zodan mountains... The 2nd campaign was from 4e I think... where we had to investigate missing sages and collect items representing the four elements. I created and played as Golgo (hehehehe, love my video game characters), who was a dramatic (voice, clothes, mannerisms and all), sexy Dhampir (half-human/half-vampire) fighter, who resembled Alucard from Castlevania SoTN quite a bit. The only difference is Golgo has a rainbow on his arm which he uses to activate an elemental bow with magic missile capabilities, and a STRONG... penchant for wanting to... (to put it nicely) rendezvous... with anyone willing, anywhere, including the DM's character, because of a few well timed 20's. Golgo also always used to have 2... "Dhampir w.h.o.r.e.s" following him around, thanks to another well-timed 20. Now we're in the middle of an anime campaign, where all the characters and storylines are based off animes the group likes. I play as Zero... yes... that Zero... the team leader, who is a Demonkin (half-Demon, half-human) that was crippled years ago in a fight with Golgo, after Zero killed Golgo's parents some time beforehand. Dr. Wily found Zero in his weakened state, put him back together and outfitted him with a robot suit (so he now has the powers of Zero in the MMX series) so he could serve him, making Zero a Demonkin Warforged with some demon qualities, robot weapons and ability, and a new Mega Man-based attack he gains each level! Zero, however, is a good character, regrets killing Golgo's mother (a human), and doesn't want to serve Wily, even though he's indebted to him. Golgo has also since become an ally to our group (including Zero) while the DM's character in our prior campaign has become our archenemy, Golgo takes the role of a scorned lover, and the DM now plays Golgo! And next time on "The Dungeoness and the Dragoness," we will bring up how Iris, Zero's love interest, is a full demon who hates humans yet has feelings for Zero and helps him out on their missions even though she hates all of Zero's companions... /And if you understood all of that, +10 for you.

http://www.digitaltrends.com: One of the many clickbait websites I see pop up on my Facebook feed all the time that clutters my feed and makes me want to find Zuckerberg and shove tabloids down his throat. They released an article I saw posted online and I decided against my better judgment to bite: www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/best-nes-games-ever/2/It's definitely not a bad list, I agree with most of the selections. Naturally, I think number 36 is the best choice on the list, and I bet many of you here would agree...

I'm sure there are at least a few people here who would want to play them. Where can we find them? BTW, welcome to the forum!

I hadn't actually seen the list yet. ST is a pleasant surprise to have on there! Hopefully it'll stir some interest... but I'm not sure how many of these "consoles" Nintendo really expects to sell. It seems like it's targeting a niche market. Hopefully it'll sell like hotcakes though!

Congratulations Matt! Are you willing/able to reveal the company? Either way, it goes to show you how personal passions can play such a significant role in the professional world. I'm glad ST was able to help you land the job... and hopefully make you very rich and famous...

Liked because of more ST fanart and that you starting this up again... not because you're without a job (been there, no fun)...

Are you still planning on making your own true "ST3" story/linear game? Or, are you calling your ST3 editor/game a "tool for people to make their own ST3's," or...? I ask in part because I'm curious myself and (at least on Twitch, where I hang a lot these days) some people still think there's a huge ton of content to be released (aka, an actual full ST3 game to eventually be played: i.e. the ST speedrunners are discussing racing ST3 when it's complete). I've not been sure of the status myself, and I've not wanted to give out inaccurate information, so I've pretty much been giving a bunch of "IDK's." That's an excellent question, and to be honest, I don't really know the answer. As of right now, I would say that it could be rebranded as a StarTropics Maker utility, not a full game. That said, I would love to release a full game using it, but I wouldn't expect anything in at least a few years. Unless I can form a team here of an artist to make me some boss sprites, a writer to write the dialogue (I have the general basis for the storyline), and MJ comes back with dungeon support, I wouldn't expect a full game anytime soon. I wouldn't rule it out completely though. Under the Southern Cross, anything is possible! I feel like there's enough of us out there to help with things as long as we're given the ability to and the access to what we need (in the program and elsewhere) to contribute. There are those of us here who have dungeon ideas and have made slews of dungeons before. Those of us can write script, others can make graphics/sprites, others can compose music if that's their forte, etc. This is, if you're comfortable/willing enough to let go of some of these responsibilities directly and instead take on more of a managerial & final approval role with parts of the game. You'd have just to specify what you need, identify a certain number of roles to be filled, maybe take some "applications" from people for these roles, and decide who does what. You could also specify target dates for certain pieces to be done (possibly in conjunction with the people you nominated for the role). It sounds like you're starting a company, but it'll ultimately save you so much time at the end, the hardcore ST community's input will be greater, and because certain game design components will play into some people's skills more than others, the overall quality of the final game should be even better. Just my 747 cents...

Glad to hear ST3 still has a spot on your desktop I would say it's still alive, even if I haven't updated it in a long time. Aside from bosses, I'm pretty content with what features the editor has currently though so there isn't a ton of work to do. You can pretty much make an entire game with it as is almost. Now if someone had some feature requests and wanted to give me a large sum of money, I can take some time off of work and do some stuff for you *Checks bank account.* DRAT! Question gellin : Are you still planning on making your own true "ST3" story/linear game? Or, are you calling your ST3 editor/game a "tool for people to make their own ST3's," or...? I ask in part because I'm curious myself and (at least on Twitch, where I hang a lot these days) some people still think there's a huge ton of content to be released (aka, an actual full ST3 game to eventually be played: i.e. the ST speedrunners are discussing racing ST3 when it's complete). I've not been sure of the status myself, and I've not wanted to give out inaccurate information, so I've pretty much been giving a bunch of "IDK's." Either way, your ST3 has been worked on now for almost 10 years, so I can understand either of your choices. Especially with a real job, family, etc., I know your time has plummeted and your ability to work on it hardcore is gone. I guess it's a consequence of getting older... or something under the Southern Cross...

I'm thinking I'll have to record, off-camera, me playing through the game trying to activate it, then play the video on stream... we'll see. But yes, I plan on addressing this on stream in the future... I'd love to steal a world record from ZodaStone by like 55 minutes...

I wish I had my Capture Card the most recent time I did it. I found it by accident as a child. Go through the game as normal, then towards the end of the cave town, you can walk straight into the wall near the exit, and it will take you straight to the credits. I think I triggered it using the game genie the first time years ago (just using codes in the codebook, nothing special), but I've also been able to do it without game genie before, so there must be some common trigger, or there are different triggers that can make it happen. I have to record it while I'm doing it sometime and post it...

Never had that happen, but I have had "warp glitches" in ZR before. The one that happened most frequently was in level 1 in the cave, where you can walk into the wall and warp right to the end of the game...
