Why are you so desperate for your ideas to be liked? The flashing heart idea sounds cool though, reminds me of something from Donkey Kong Country. I like the idea of coloured hearts and coloured potions, but not coloured stars. Another idea is that some green potions could (randomly) turn black as you use them and instead take away life (as if the potion has gone bad and has become poisonous).

Another smart idea from michael jones!
Hey, gellin, if you'd like any help (drawing stuff, or writing stuff, whatever) don't hesitate to ask me.

You should show your parents that schedule--they'll be so proud of your organization.
For me:
Sunday: Master yo-yo Monday: Spin in circles Tuesday: Eat gigantic apple Wednesday: See fortuneteller about becoming a girl Thursday: Dig around cemetery Friday: Jump in fountain Saturday: Stop the aliens.
When I outlined my plans for them as such, they seemed to be astonished and astounded.

Hey gellin! I recently got that game too. It's so cool, but looks like it would take more time to really get through it than I have. I love X-Men.

Make a tile with a star on it. That would be a really good innovation (it could have special effects!). Once I download this, I'll give you useful feedback.

I downloaded Game Maker or RPG Maker XP, one of those... I felt really dumb because I was struggling with it. This was a few months ago, maybe when I get some time I'll try again. I couldn't find any decent tutorials.

Ohh, I have webspace Matt. I can put together a Star Tropics site and have it geared towards your game and your updates. I can put the game there and deal with making the website shortly after. If this is a good option for you, send me a pm. PLEASE don't use Geocities, of all the free hosts, they're one of the most annoying (even Freewebs is better).

Wow, nice work, Matt!! I'm guessing some of this art is ST2ZR inspired, I should really play that game some time.

I know, lol, Sub-Space would be clever in that way (it's used a lot in Star Trek). Also, if you call it Sub-Space then you can even keep the ability of the ship (Sub-Space) to "submerge" into subspace and you keep the teleportation element of it.

Space-C occurred to me, that might work. Sub-C is indeed short for Submarine-C, but I think it's also clever word play: Sub-C = Sub-sea = below sea. I guess it's not that important lol.

Wow, Matt. I'm impressed with your work. "Spaceship-C" sounds interesting, but I think Sub-Star or Sub-Space might sound a little better. "Sub-C" is actually a clever way to say "under sea". I'll keep thinking about that. If you need any help writing parts of the story or dialogue, I'll help in any way I can.

InvisionFree stinks and has huge ads. This board is fine as is. But if you ever choose to move to an Invision board, seek other hosting options.
