We all know that most video games have a Jap name. Could someone please tell me what are the Jap names of ST and ST2?

StarTropics was made for North American release, so there wasn't a Japanese name for it (as far as anyone knows).

Maybe if it was released in japan it would of been more popular . I've wondered about that before, and my expectation is that it would definitely have helped the fate of the series... BUT, what can ya do? At least a few true video gamers out in the world were able to get their hands on it...

Were there a couple of titles in Japan that were modified as StarTropics and Zoda's Revenge, just like when they changed Panel de Pon into Tetris Attack and the Pokemon Puzzle series, and when they changed Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan into Elite Beat Agents?

Absolutely right MJ. I never have sen a pic of the original Doki Doki Panic. I must say, Mario looks much better there in place of the turban dude...

Well, not that I think it will be the most correct translation of what the game would really be called in Japan, when I translated "Star Tropics" from English to Japanese characters, I got this: ¯‚Ì”M‘Ñ’n•û As for the words, I can't find a way to translate from English to them online. I wish I knew how to speak Japanese sometimes...

I downloaded a Japanese Pack for my PC, but that text you pasted won't display good on my PC. And most online translators aren't good enough.
