Good to see some added stuff! I particularly like the news bar up top, that can come in handy. I do feel, at a point, some of the subforums will end up being merged, depending on their activity, but that can be gauged as we go along. It might also be handy though to move some of those archived off-topic topics into what would be their appropriate places in the new subforums. It'll give people bases to judge where to put whatever subjects they want to make (and I personally think it looks better than having all those subforums stay blank in the interim)...  |

cc, if you want to take on the task of moving those topics, you are more than welcome to do so!
Also, I thought of merging some of the sub-topics down into one big one as well depending on activity...but we'll see how things work out.

Thins are looking good Scotty! I was also thinking of moving some of the threads from the Off-Topic section into their appropriate new sections. If anyone else wants to do this keep in mind that we should start moving topics from the last page of the Off-Topic section first so that all of the old threads don't end up at the top of the list.

I like the new boards and organization I have an idea for another board. If you look at the top four (sticky) threads in the Archive/Off-topic board, you'll notice that all of these are forum games of some sort, and the threads are all popular. So some type of "StarTropics-Related Forum Games" board, however that might work, could be fun to have.  Also, we should still maintain some sort of "Off-Topic" board for the threads that don't fit into any other category. Edit: I'd be willing to help move some threads if necessary. I have way too much free time and I love organizing things. All I'd need is the ability to move threads from board to board. I think that a forum games area is a great idea! I'll create it right away and move those threads in there. Also, once all of the threads in the archives section have been moved to their appropriate areas I plan to make that the off topic area. And thanks for your offer about helping move threads although I think we'll be able to handle it at the moment.Scratch that, it's a much bigger job than I anticipated . Syko has been temporarily upgraded to mod status in order to help with the sorting of old threads! |

We used to have one a loooooong time ago although it no longer exists (not that it really had any activity anyways). if someone wanted to set one up I suppose that we could always give it a try again . |

I really don't support having more boards then what we have now. It would be too much to go through on the front page. Renaming/merging some subforums that already exist may be able to resolve things, but having more than what we do now would be overkill. A different subforum for every subcategory isn't necessary, it's why there should always be a general "off-topic" subforum in the first place. My philosophy is that subforums should be built around where future posts will land, not where the past posts could land (archive does exist for that reason too). This is also why I believe, at some forums, stuff needs to be moved, rearranged, and deleted after some time (though many don't share those same thoughts). K.I.S.S. would be where I'm trying to go with it. What I thought we had originally I think worked great, I think what we have now will work great after some gauging, but adding and "micro-categorizing" much more will start to be overkill, IMHO. |

May I suggest a few changes?
Remove the News/Rumors section for ST and ST2. This category seems a bit silly and I don't expect there to be any news or rumors. If for some reason there is, you could just post that in the appropriate General ST section.
I've always found that having two Sprites / Artwork sections is unnecessary. I would combine them into one. Maybe place that along with the ST Fan Games into a brand new grouping called "Fan Content" or something like that.
Lastly, I agree with the General Gaming section. I'd go as far to move all of the non-classic gaming threads into there and remove the pc, 360, ps3, wii boards.
Just my 2 cents.

Optionally, have one News/Rumors forum that encompasses all of it with both games and put that under general. The idea I had would be to have classic gaming, console gaming (360, PS3, Wii), and PC gaming sections, cutting it down from 5 to 3. I'm still wondering, exactly, what the general intention of the "role-playing" subforum is (about RPG's in general? but that would go in the other gaming subforums...), but again, some of it might have to be gauged over time, depending what peaks people's interests... EDIT: BTW, if anybody saw any weird thread-moving business today (10/9/10), that was me. I was experimenting (apologies), in an attempt to correct the dates on the front-page, and it looks like the roundabout idea worked (at least on my end). ;D |

Alright, if you've looked at the main page then you're probably wondering what the heck is going on, let me explain. I changed the "StarTropics Category" into the "StarTropics & Zoda's Revenge Catagory". I never thought that there was really enough Zoda's Revenge specific discussion that they really needed their own boards, for this reason I've moved all of the Zoda's Revenge topics into their appropriate combined sections. If anyone disagrees with me then I can move the ZR threads back to their original home, if not then I'll remove the ZR sections. Secondly, most of the other message boards that I go to usually just have one gaming section instead of sections for each of the main consoles today, the classic consoles, and PC gaming. I've created just a general video games section that could be used to house all of the threads that relate to video games. This would reduce clutter although before I did anything I wanted to make sure that everyone was alright with having just one gaming area, if anyone doesn't like this idea then I'll just leave things the way that they are now and remove the new gaming section that I made.
Also, let's all give Syko a round of applause for helping move all of the threads into their specific new sections! Thanks a lot ;D.
