On this site: www.nicozon.net/watch/sm2283661there's a speedrun on StarTropics. The curious thing is, it's a japanese site. So I clicked on the comment section. I'll translate some comments as best as I can. -"What's this?" -"Nostalgiiiic!" -"very tasty / very horse" (it says UMA sugiru without kanji... so...) -"Choeeee!!" (some kind of excitement yell, I guess) -(random typing) -"Ooooh." -"In japanese ok?" ('ok' looks like a typo, "o"'s in japanese, "k"'s in romaji) - ? -"Hidebu" (Don't know what this means... seems like a popular something..) -"From Zelda" -"Mario?" -"Stinks!" (can't tell if he means the game or the player) "BGM is so gooood!" "He looks like "Durakue/Drake" (whoever he is) -"Imaichi is so cute" -"You cheated!" (said in english) -"Mike Jones!!! Nintendo cool 性格 (unable to translate last bit) -Nintendo, Back StarTropics Support Love please!" (I can't tell what he was trying to say, but these are the words I recognized) -"Zelda + Dragonquest" -"Zelda leftover/shell/hull" There are a lot of comments, some which are very hard to translate. Looks like opinions are mixed of love and hate. Some love the game, others consider it a Zelda clone too. Some comments, I can't quite tell if they're referring to the player being bad (though I doubt it, he is a speed runner) or the game. Anyways, I thought I'd leave something interesting for everyone to read for a change..

I posted the "Zelda + DragonQuest" comment to teach viewers that the game uses the overworld-scrolling formula of DragonQuest in the overworld parts, while using the battling underworld formula of the original Zelda for the underworld parts.
If StarTropics 1 and 2 were released in Japan, they would most likely be played exclusively for the Famicom Disk System. The music would also be slightly enhanced.
I haven't seen anything related to Zoda's Revenge on Nico Nico Douga.
