Signed it.
I think a new Star Tropics would be awsome for something like the DS. But I doubt Star Tropics would work/do well if it were made into a 3D game for something like the Nintendo Wii.

I'm not sure if the petition would work, because when the people of Starmen.Net, a MOTHER/EarthBound series fan site, send a very large petition with fan art, fan music, and other fan creations to Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Japan, HAL Laboratory, and Shigesato Itoi, IT DIDN'T WORK. However, it might have caused them to release GBA MOTHER 3/GBA EarthBound, but only in Japan.

If you do, I'd like to hear it... At this point, at least in my mind, the petition is the way for some of us to feel we can contribute towards the general goal, when there's nothing else we know we can do to help the cause...

It would be difficult to catch Nintendo's attention, because they don't listen to their fans very much. Perhaps we should talk about the StarTropics series as much as possible in the official Nintendo forums of America and Europe.

Yea, and everyone should add a link to this site in their sig so that we can spread the word of ST. Build a bigger army, ya know?

Nintendo might not let people add a link to this site in their sig, because I guess Nintendo doesn't want advertisements in their forums. Nice idea though, we can still try it out, and see if Nintendo would let us.
One thing that increases Mike Jones chance at entering SSBB is that StarTropics was released in two countries / continents, just like MOTHER 2 / SNES EarthBound, the title that Ness came from. Once Mike Jones enters, the StarTropics fanbase will continue to expand.
Has anyone ever created a GameFAQs review for StarTropics and / or Zoda's Revenge? I haven't.

I thought ST had a Gamefaqs page? *Checks* Yes, there are gamefaqs pages for ST and ST2. Glancing over them quickly, they seem pretty good. However, they're made by some of the regulars who do walkthroughs on there, so it's no surprise... As for Nintendo, they have absolutely NO control over this board. They can't stop anyone from posting the link to this boards ANYWHERE ELSE. They have no control over Mitch's site either, b/c these aren't Nintendo based pages, but fan-based. Thus, there is no problem with that. I already have links here and to the petition in my sigs elsewhere online. The only thing that might bug Nintendo is if an unofficial ST3 game, using the same sprites, names, and characters is made without their consent (which is why I've warned gellin and others about making their games too public). Otherwise, I assure you, Nintendo has no control over what happens at this forum, or any other forums outside their own...

Did anyone see this? I'm not sure if this is fake or not, but the person who uploaded the video said that Camelot (the creator of the Golden Sun series) is working on StarTropics III.

Touche, MJ.
As for that ST III thing for the Wii...I'm not convinced. I need more than just a more-than-likely-Photoshopped TV screen as evidence before I'm swayed. Maybe some legit screenshots or gameplay vids.

Like Hell... Do they really expect me to believe, after 13 years of waiting and getting nothing, to believe this thing? HAH! TRY AGAIN! There are 2 main reasons I'm not buying: 1. We have a one sec clip of an almost obviously doctored screen with the Wii, a shooting star, and ST3. This could have been very easily produced. That, and this user has posted only one video during his extent on YouTube, not much of a track record to have faith in... 2. You're expecting me to believe that Nintendo sold the name, concept (including characters), and production rights for one of its own creations to somebody else, for them to market and possibly profit from? Yeah right. This is almost assuredly bogus, especially with the fact that Nintendo is in the process of putting ST1 and ST2 on the VC! You got money talking!! A very special deal would have had to have been made for this to be the case... So, I'm not buying. I'd like to believe it (you all know that), but it'll take more than 1 second to sway me. If this were to be true, I'd expect a few things to happen very soon: 1. Info about the game, including its individual makers, plot, and setup will be released (or passed along from person to person), especially for an 07 release. 2. Camelot, in an official announcement of upcoming releases, would make note of ST3 in an article, even though you'd think if they were already working on it, something would've been said by them by now... 3. Mike may not end up being a character in SSB Brawl (he could, who knows), but if this were real, you have to expect Nintendo would put in a trophy or some kind of ST related item in the game. That's too much of an advertising opportunity (at no cost to them, at that), for them to pass up for this. Sorry guys, I just get really P***ed when I see seemingly fake crap like this spread online... Now, with regards to Nintendo being miffed MJ. I'm just being paranoid for gellin. I know many different fan-made games for Mario and others have been released online and elsewhere, and Nintendo hasn't said word one. However, for all those who were at the old board, IIRC, gellin (or was it someone else?), after he started work on the original ST3, got some kind of notice, maybe a cease and desist of some sort from Nintendo, telling him to stop making the game. Now, NOA's thoughts on this matter seem to switch from one year to the next, from what I've seen, and from this point on, I'd be one to tread water cautiously... That's all... EDIT: *checks old board* It was WINDAPPLE who had that ST3 problem!! p197.ezboard.com/Star-Tropics-3-Project-died/fstartropicsfrm1.showMessage?topicID=38.topic

To comment on your points coralcola: 1) I completely agree with you there. That does look a little too pathetic for me to even consider taking it serious. 2) Camelot is actually the ones who made the latest Mario Golf and maybe some other recent ones. If this was real, Nintendo would allow them to make a game using their characters without actually selling anything. 1) This is not necessary true. First of all, Nintendo is extremely secretive as we all know. Second of all, games sometimes don't get announced until late in the development cycle. 2) Again, the announcement thing. 3) Yeah that would be cool to have him for a trophy if he is not playable. If I remember correctly from that far back, Windapple actually sent Nintendo an email asking him if he could create a fan game. So as long as I don't send an email to them . As was pointed out in another thread, there are lots of Nintendo based fan games across the internet. I personally think the only way they would get angry is if I was profiting from their game. This was also mentioned elsewhere, if for some reason I do get a cease and desist order, all I really have to do is change the graphics and music. The gameplay could be the same but I just wouldn't be able to use any official things. All and all, I wouldn't worry too much. If I had intentions of keeping the game low key, I wouldn't have made my own website featuring it.
