This bug has probably been present for a long time now, and it involves the wide rooms> Whenever i have Mike travel to the upper end of a wide room (for example, he enters from the bottom left and exits through the upper right), the camera pans to a different room within its radius (mainly from the upper parts of the room) here's a few screenshots if you don't get what i'm saying. start of wide room door to next room then it goes all weird and goes back to the first part of the screen when it transitions also mike is nowhere to be found here's what the map looks like

Thanks for the detailed bug information. You're not the first person to mention this issue. Maybe it's time to fix it

Found another bug (its been happening for a while though). There's a random occurance where a defeated enemy's sprite doesn't dissappear, and sometimes when that happens, the enemy kill trigger doesn't activate (since i guess it doesn't count it as a kill). It happens randomly though so sometimes they die like they're supposed to, other times their sprite stays there and it doesn't dissapear nor can it hurt you (mostly happens with the smaller enemies)

I'm having an issue whereby I can't actually get into a village or a dungeon. I can walk over to it on the map, but can't enter. As such I have not experienced anything more than the first map.
Furthermore, at the main menu, even though it says B is Back, I am not able to go back.

Is this a project that you've created yourself or the one that I've bundled with the game?
It's not the B key on the keyboard, it's actually the B button that you have bound in your Keyboard Configs. The default of which is the 'S' key.

The game itself. I haven't created any projects yet.
Okay, because when I press S, it does go back, but if I've go into the Controls menu, I can't get back to the main menu by pressing S a couple times. I hear the sound, but it stays at that screen, forcing me to exit.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I'll fix it with the next update. The only areas available with the bundled game is C-Island, Coralcola, and the first dungeon. I provide a very large overworld that contains every area in the original game, but none of the other villages or dungeons have been created so walking over them wouldn't do anything.

I've noticed that Startropics III can be a bit of a CPU Hog. Any way around this?

I've noticed that Startropics III can be a bit of a CPU Hog. Any way around this? Unfortunately, no. This requires me to do a little bit of programming in order to fix this. There's really no reason it should be hogging an entire core. Edit: Just took a look at this. It turns out I had one really dumb line of code that was causing this. Without any additional optimizations, it now takes about 33% of your core on average. I'll be sure to include this change with the next update (which should hopefully be sooner than later).

Thanks so much for looking into it. I've never noticed the problem until Norton started working. Which brings me to my next problem. Ever since Norton started working I haven't been able to use the level editor. Whenever I try to open a room of a dungeon, I just get this message:
Unable to cast object type
An error has occurred!
Source: mscorlib
Message: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.
Stack Trace: at System.Collections.ArrayList.ArrayListEnumeratorSimple.MoveNext() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ExitInternal() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.OnThreadException(Exception t) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProcException(Exception e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnThreadException(Exception e) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.DispatchMessageW(MSG& msg) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ComponentManager.System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.IMsoComponentManager.FPushMessageLoop(Int32 dwComponentID, Int32 reason, Int32 pvLoopData) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.RunMessageLoopInner(Int32 reason, ApplicationContext context) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.RunMessageLoop(Int32 reason, ApplicationContext context) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run(Form mainForm) at ST3LE.Program.Main()
Any idea what it means? Norton probably caused this. Honestly, it's more trouble then its worth. I going to try to disable it then re-download the game, hopefully it should clear it up.
I hate coming on here and posting stuff I find wrong with it. I actually love the program a lot and want to thank you for making it and taking the time to fix it, so thank you.

Hmmm, that particular stack trace is pretty useless to me unfortunately. When you say you are trying to open a room of the dungeon, are you referring to opening it in a tab for editing or playing the current room? Once I know that, I can look for anything out of the ordinary. Also, does this happen with the example.st3 that comes bundled with it or just your custom dungeon? I don't mind you coming and posting these issues. If you're having them, chances are that others are as well and they just haven't said anything. I'm glad you're enjoying the program though. Hearing things like that makes it all worth it

I can load any dungeon into the editor but can't open individual rooms. Double clicking a room does nothing and when I right click>open it just crashes and yields an error message. I can't play the current room either.
The message stack I posted before was from when then program would close, here's the one that comes up as soon as the error occurs:
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

That one looks much more useful to me. I'd like for you to try something out. Go to your Documents/StarTropics III folder and rename the docking.cfg to something like docking-backup.cfg. Now try and load into the editor again. If that works, will you email me the backup config that you made? I'd like to load it up myself and debug it to prevent this from happening. Let me know if that solves your problem.

That did the trick. I can't seem to find your email though.
