Today's update: Lucas's Moves. This update got me thinking... Before today, I was 100% sure Ness would be back. But now I'm not so sure... However... (and this is still beyond a theory, but not much of a fantasy now) Taking out Ness means two things to me. 1.- A worldwide "known" character has been replaced by a Japan-only character. 2.- The one and only YO-YO user has been removed... Perhaps the door opens for OTHER Yo-Yo users? From which, in the Nintendo universe we have around 4 (5 excluding the could-be-removed Ness) 1.- Ninten (too similar to Ness, I highly doubt it, and also Japan exclusive) 5% 2.- Demiru (very unique character, but still Japan only I believe) 15% 3.- (sorry, I forgot the name of the game and the character here. It's a platformer sidescrolling nes game that looks like a fusion between Castlevania and Urban Champion). 25% 4.- Mike Jones (not only does he star two great games known both in Europe and US, but he could balance the Japan exclusive characters, and bring in a whole new arsenal of weapons) 55% These statistics are not about character chances as a whole. Instead, I'm rating Yo-Yo users' chances. I would've given Demiru a higher value if it wasn't the fact that Sakurai would be pushing it with the Japan exclusives if he added more. Yeah, this is VERY wishful thinking. Did I miss any Yo Yo users? (I excluded Yo Noid! by the way, he's 4th party XD)

Ness could have an entirely new moveset more accurate for him. Or Lucas could have a Ness costume. Tomorrow I want a Mike Jones update.

Ness could also end up as an Assist Trophy, if not a playable character. That would be appropriate, don't ya think?? As for tomorrow's update, if they don't provide a new playable character in Brawl, I think this'll be the first week in quite some time they haven't done so. This, of course, if I remember correctly, and because I thought I remember reading somewhere (like IGN) that every week, Sakurei was planning to introduce at least one new playable character. However, with the delay in its release, I don't know if that's still possible, without revealing EVERY character in the game, at least...

Today's update:
New Stage - Norfair Level from Metroid...rising lava...no surprises here. Although they did throw in a one-person-capacity safe-haven shelter for when a giant wave of lava fills most of the stage...

A Ness alt. costume wouldn't hurt anyone... I mean, turning yellow hair black is easier than the other way around.. and adding a cap is a no brainer (seeing Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Pichu). So why not give Ness fans what they want? I see no problem in it. I was so expecting a new character... oh well.. always hoping for next week. Even though I already saw it in the E-For all videos, Norfair still looks awesome.

Lucas' final smash is a move that he never even learns in the game. Heck, all his moves he never learns in the game. PK Fire, Thunder, and Freeze belong to Kumatora. PK Starstorm also belongs to Kumatora. He never even touches the Rope Snake, that belongs to Duster. But I don't really care, mainly because it's Lucas.
And if a Sin and Punishment character can get it, I'm pretty sure a StarTropics character can as well, if only to be an Assist Trophy.

For real, I had to Wiki it before I remembered what the game exactly was. So, we got our first Asia-exclusive cameo, if my facts are straight. So the past two weeks have been mostly filler, which should come as no surprise. However, there is only so much filler that can be put up after this point, I'd have to believe. Hopefully Sakurei will give us an early XMAS present come December 1... *RANDOM THOUGHT* On Dec 7 (anniversary of Pearl Harbor attack), anybody think Sakurei could put up an appropriate update being a cameo appearance by a "certain" numerically named World War 2 based pilot shooter series for the NES??... *MJ starts freaking out*

The 1940 series was made by Capcom though so I doubt anything from 1941-1944 will be in it (although I know there have been rumors of MegaMan being in Brawl so if that is true then there might be a chance).

Interesting update today, it definitely caught my eye. Apparently, some stages from MELEE are coming back in Brawl!!! In particular, Hyrule Temple (my favorite stage from Melee W00T) has been replicated as closely as possible, and the musicians composed a new song for the stage with recomposed parts of a certain song that I don't think has been heard in VG's since... like... 1988

These next two updates are about The Battle for the Smash Ball and X - Tunnel Scene. I don't have anything to say about The Battle for the Smash Ball, but for X - Tunnel Scene, here is the original version of the song heard on the Smash Bros. DOJO website.

Parrothead be pleased, STAFY IS IN THE GAME! But only as an assist trophy.
If Stafy is in, Mike better be in!

Well this is better than not adding him at all. And while the official website spelled his name as "Stafy", that is most likely the official spelling. End of alternate spelling controversy! FryGuy64, are you still going to continue referring to him as "Starfy"? I hope not. Stafy was made to attack that way, because Sakurai didn't want to overpack the Wii discs. Same reason why he made Excitebike, Spiny, Lakitu and the Nintendo Wars combat vehicles in sprite format. Another reason why is that if they were 3D and then overpacked the screen, it would slow down and perhaps crash and freeze, just like moving Ganondorf on the Great Fox's blasters, while placing a bunch of bombs on it and making Ganondorf do his slightly UP+A move right there. Even though, Stafy was made in 3D, his design is so simple, he doesn't take up a lot more space that the sprite Assist Trophies. I don't exactly understand why Sakurai made him vulnerable and shiny? Could this mean that Sakurai was afraid that Stafy might steal Kirby's spotlight?

Chalk up a third day of non-filler within the past week! Sakurai must be gearing up and working on getting some momentum going for the game's still on target "new" release date in a month and a half... ;D
A new stage has been revealed, from Metroid! The only new concept this one brings, I feel, is that it gets dark...ish, an idea which isn't revolutionary, but one that definitely should be a staple of any such game with stages with such variety as SSB. The inversion idea can also be seen in a number of other places, the one coming to mine is the one Metroid stage from Melee.
Mother fans should also be happy with the new music put up. This could be a very good week if this kind of info keeps coming in at the pace it recently has been...

Trophy shooter mode looks awesome. A Starmen.Netter said he saw Zoda in the mix, I'm questioning him more about that.
