Sounds like a welcome addition. I suppose if there's nothing new to talk about, we might as well talk about other people talking about StarTropics.

Welcome aboard! Mr. Scotty D. speaks the truth, unfortunately. Our humble community has been largely dead for a long time. But don't let that discourage you from posting -- there's still a few of us around who will be happy to strike up a conversation with you.
Pleasure to have you!

No, it wouldn't appear so. In fact, the only video on the whole site concerning StarTropics III is this one. As such, yes, anything regarding the game is very much welcome, methinks. A simple guide on the level editor would actually be of good use to me, as I glanced over it once a while ago and was a bit intimidated by the interface. Granted, if I had actually sat down and thoroughly examined the editor, I doubt I would have had any real trouble putting the pieces together and figuring out how to properly utilize the editor, but with that said, a video tutorial is very much welcome.

Ahoy! Salutations, and welcome aboard. It's always a real pleasure to see new faces around the community. In fact, I'm a newbie as well. Only a few weeks have passed since I made my own introductory post. So, why not tell us a bit about yourself? Do you have an occupation, hobbies, likes, dislikes, etc, that you'd like to share? Myself, I'm a composer; or musician, whichever title you prefer to dub me. By the by, if you care to give it a look, we have a brand new Discord server, fresh off the production line. Currently, Mr. "Michael Jones" and I are it's only two inhabitants, so we could use a few more souls to chat and interact with. Invite: discord.gg/QQ9GBHnSee you around the forums.

I can't believe this site went under my radar for the past decade or so, but hey -- better late than never. StarTropics is one of those games that I'd always heard about but never got the chance to play as a boy. Despite that, however, there is definitely a nostalgic quality to the game, and it's something I think would have struck a chord with me back then. I first played it back in 2008 on the Wii Virtual Console, absolutely loved it, and immediately blazed through Zoda's Revenge afterward. Still remains my favorite two NES games, which says a lot, since I grew up with a plethora of games from that era. It's staggering to me that this series has gotten so little recognition despite how impressive the presentation and narrative is for the day. Even beyond the excellent game design on display, what struck me most above all was the sheer personality of the characters and sense of adventure the narrative carries. This is really unprecedented for an NES action-adventure title -- I can't really think of any other games on the system that are so story-driven yet well executed in both gameplay and plot. It's like a blend of Zelda, Mother, and Adventure Island all mixed into one concise, well-conceived little game. Anyhow, it's great to be here alongside fellow StarTropics fans! Look forward to chatting a bit more on the Discord.
