Zc now has a huge ability to edit not just graphics but also enemy stats and items. It's still pretty complicated and recently I have had more fun playing the quests being made rather than making my own. If you go to the purezc.net site, look up my profile signature (I'm Lecayle there too) and you will find links to awesome tutorials for using their editor.

hopefully this one wasn't taken:
You are so bad at Startropics that before the game even starts, you lose your tickets for the ride to C-Island, lost your last baseball game in Seattle, and broke your pitching arm. However, as a consolation prize, the nurse staff at Seattle General is pleasant. The jell-o isn't too bad either.

My suggestive feedback is this: Any of the oldtimey users that know what they are doing in STII Editor, could we get a tutorial/startup/noob-friendly (I am one of those for this site!) guide for how some of the tricks of the trade work? I amay not have looked far enough yet, but so far I think it could help. I must say that the community here is relaxing and friendly enough, and that shows promise. So far I have greatly enjoyed finding this site and reading several of the interactions within the boards. Friendliness can be somewhat lacking on boards these days, and I feel that friendliness is key to a healthy long-lived board. It makes us approachable!

Gellin!!! All hail the one who has brought a great game from the ashes!! Okay. Enough of that.
I just got STIII and so far I must say I am IMPRESSED. If this is truly a one man enterprise with a beta community backing it, big props man. My issue so far is that when I go to the editor, when I try to pull up the help menu (F1) I get a big old error message, with a prompt before that saying that I can continue, but I may have issues (I didn't try to continue). Here's the error dump:
An error has occurred!
Source: mscorlib
Message: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.
Stack Trace: at System.Collections.ArrayList.ArrayListEnumeratorSimple.MoveNext() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ExitInternal() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.OnThreadException(Exception t) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProcException(Exception e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnThreadException(Exception e) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.DispatchMessageW(MSG& msg) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ComponentManager.System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.IMsoComponentManager.FPushMessageLoop(Int32 dwComponentID, Int32 reason, Int32 pvLoopData) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.RunMessageLoopInner(Int32 reason, ApplicationContext context) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.RunMessageLoop(Int32 reason, ApplicationContext context) at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run(Form mainForm) at ST3LE.Program.Main()
IS there a help file meant to go here, or has it yet to be implemented? Other than this so far, I would call STIII awesome chocolate sauce. I have been a fan/user of another fan based game editor for years for a specific green clad pointy eared fella, and I have so wanted to find something like that for ST.

Howdy!! Name's Lecayle and I was thrilled to see an editor for Startropics. I believe that this game is underated and underappreciated!! I may not be on the boards a whole great much, but I do check into the boards I have reg'd on to keep up with stuff. Now, then: I am off to the help forum to do a bit of interrogating, lol.
*EDIT* Just adding a few more tiddlywinks about my intro while it is still an intro. I have been a member on PureZC.net forever and a day now it seems, so I am fairly familiar with BBS setups and the yoodyoo that goes with it. While mainly a Zelda fan myself, Startropics has always been one of those games that I really wish had either continued or really happened. I remember when I first discovered it, Mom had rented it back in '91 and I played around on a save file. I loved the music and the transition from explore mode to beat down dungeon time. Keep in mind, young'uns, this game came out during a golden period for gaming. We were at a changing field as far as soon to be transitioning into 16-bit gaming, and Startropics made a grand stand to say that 8-bit still had something to offer. The STIII editor has been something I have long awaited to see. While I would like to see emulation of the original game, after playing the demo I can happily say that if it works and is still moving forward, I would like to watch and assist this project grow. For Gellin, my thanks. For the community, my thanks. Without a thriving community to back a program like this, well, let's leave that unsaid. Salutations, fellow nerds, dweebs, and gamers. Greetings to newfound friends.
I'll get an avatar set up sometime soon.
