Something very interesting happened with my ST2 game yesterday. Has this happened to anybody? I was playing the game in review mode and had just finished going through chapter 2. When Mike entered Egypt, I waited until a part where I was free to walk around the screen before I shut the game off for a bit. When I turned the game back on, however, I found all my data saved on the game had been erased! This included the data in the other two game slots as well. This is the first time that any of my games have erased previously saved data by themselves. Did I do something wrong here, or was this a glitch?

Did you remember to hold in the reset button as you powered off your system?? This has happened to me a couple times w/ the ST games and Legend of Zelda.

I never hold the reset button when I turn off games like startropics and dragon warrior. Whats the point and why would the game need you to hold reset?

The NES games use EEPROM which is definately not the standard today. Todays memory is much better therefore not having to do weird things such as holding reset. Personally, I never bothered with holding down the button and I think that out of all my games, I only had everything erased once or twice. www.webopedia.com/TERM/E/EEPROM.html

Oh. And by the way I never hold reset either and none of my NES games have ever erased.

I've had both games since they were released and I've never held the reset button for ST and LOZ. This is the first time that any such thing has happened to me, so I don't think it involves that, but for what reason it otherwise happened, I'm clueless... Oh well!

It's probably just because it's old.

Well, it's saving things fine again now, so I'll just have to keep an eye on it. I'm runnng through ST2 entirely again, I always like to have one of the three slots filled with a fully completed game on it, so I can use the review mode to its full advantage. Thanx all.

Thats one I didn't bring up but it did erase on me once. You do know that if you get gameover you lose the golden coins you have right? Thats not a glitch.
