Hah, yeah, I liked Beast Wars. This movie will be different in lots of ways, and since I've been paying close attention I know I will hate some of the changes, but I'm hoping it'll still capture the spirit of the original. It's about giant sentient transforming robots from outerspace at war with each other--that's a formula for success on its own.

I think X3 was bad, but X1 and X2 were good. I don't think LOTR was ruined... most of the fans were happy with it and love Peter Jackson.
But Hollywood (i.e. Michael Bay) is definitely making their fair share of dumb changes to Transformers. If you can adjust to the idea that many of the Transformers will look completely different (i.e. unrecognizable), then you might be able to enjoy the film. If you can't cope with the change, you will probably dislike the movie bigtime. We'll see.

I think it will be pretty cool. They put a stupid flame paintjob on Optimus Prime and some of the characters look totally different such that you can't recognize them, but other than that it looks good.

No, Beast Wars is basically Transformers with beasts instead of cars.  If you have watched all of Beast Wars, you'll see it's based off of the original Transformers. Also, the teaser trailer is out now, so take a look. |
