Any one notice in F-Zero the show/show-based game that the enemy alien is named Zoda?

I have heard about him, but he wasn't an alien, he was a criminal back before they attached the hose to his body.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoda#ZodaWikipedia is your friend... Not being a F-Zero fan, I can only guess that he appears to be one of the lesser enemies in the series, maybe a henchman of the BIG BAD GUY, I think his name is Death Shadow.

But then he became more popular in Japan because in the F-ZERO anime, he is the main enemy of the protagonist: Rick Wheeler (Ryu Suzaku in Japan).

I've never heard if him. Huh...impressive. But they shouldn't give the name of a character from the best game ever to a racer unless it's the same person.

Hrrmmm...... this is very interesting! I wonder if 'Zoda' is some part of Japanese culture? Or perhaps it's just a name?

i think nintendo just got lazy when they were coming up with all those names... "we need an evil space alien name. quick, think of something!" "how about we just rip something from StarTropics? no one played that anyway!" "good work! it's done!" only problem is, people DID play ST...but only cool people

Yeah, I've been aware of him for some time, a shame he is nothing like the real Zoda.

I'm sure that Zoda's Japanese name is available on a Japanese F-ZERO fansite, we could probably use it to find a Japanese website about StarTropics.

That's all assuming that there are Japanese websites about StarTropics to begin with. One way you could be sure is to use Google's Advanced Search and search just Japanese sites. I just took my own advice and one of the very first sites in Japanese links to Mitch's site!
