I'm trying to find the best screen recorder out there. I've tried most of them, but none of them are good enough. Most people choose SnagIt, but my PC won't let me open it after I installed it. Screen Virtuoso works completely find at first, but then it speeds up the playback, even when I try to slow it down. FRAPS and GAMECAM both only record the entire screen, and they are not user friendly. CamStudio is perhaps the best that I could find, but it's playback quality is poor. Most everything else that I found are just not good enough.

I use FRAPS and CamStudio. Those are about the best you can find anywhere. So your best bet is to MAKE them work the way you want them to work. You most likely wont find any others that do what those 2 programs alone can do.

Problem with screen recording is that it takes a pretty nice pc (processor, RAM, and GPU) to be able to do it high quality without slowdowns, the ones you mentioned are pretty much the best ones, you just might need more ram or a better graphics card. What are you trying to record?
