The game sticks out? I wonder why nintendo made it like that? It's probably a top-loading system. I have a knock-off NES since my regular NES doesn't work anymore. It's top-loading and has a converter like the one startropicsmaster is talking about. Without the converter, the games would be too big for the loading slot. It may not be a "real" NES...but it works and plays the games.

Those sound cool. I can only imagine what they would look like.
Sorry about the off-topic stuff.

It may not be a "real" NES...but it works and plays the games. THATS IT! THATS IT! THATS WHAT I HAVE! BTW: Mine(I'm not sure if there's other colors) is a small black box, about 6'' long and 4 1/2'' wide with 2 buttons at the front and a small slot on the top. You stick a American game in the covertor[backwards] and put the whole thing in the system. Then, it works. It's soooooo cool! And, It doesn't tire itself out as quick as the old NES did. I've had mine for a year now and it looks and plays like it just came out of the box. The only downfall is that sense the game sticks out, one little tap on the system or whatever it's sitting on, will cause the game to wobble a bit and possibly mess it up. Overall, it's a good investment.

Yeah...same thing happens with mine. The reason that this one doesn't wear out as easily as the original NES systems is that the 72-pin connectors in the converter aren't corrodable like the old systems were. A main problem was that those would corrode due to excess moisture from people blowing in the system (BAD IDEA!!!) and would rust and corrode the connecters. The connecters in this one are probably aluminum or stainless steel.

The only time the game sticks out of my NES is with game genie. I never use it anyway so it dosn't matter.

The systems you're talking about, I have seen them before and know what they could be. Copy and paste the links to see the pictures otherwise they won't work. Is it this? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:PolyStation_NES_clone.jpgIf it is, this is a true knockoff of the Nintendo made in the late 90's and is supposed to look like a Sony PS... This is what I predict (and only predict) you have. Or is it this? Though I'm pretty sure you would've known if you had one of them... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Famicom.jpgThe original! The NES in Japan, called the Famicon aka Nintendo Family Computer. Of the two, this would be the one I would HOPE you'd have because they are rare and will probably be more valuable one day in the near future...

I've heard of unofficial equipment like "worm light" and stuff like that but I have never heard of an unofficial system.
