We've all talked for so long now about what we like about the ST series (which is a lot, and there isn't much we couldn't like anyway ). So, to get on the other side of things, what, if anything, does everyone not like about ST, or about either game in particular? Two things come to mind for me. In ST1, when you finish Chapter 7, and get the 2nd cube, your energy fills up to its max, yet, when you enter the final stage where you fight Zoda's head and all, you always start with 3 hearts. That made me so mad when I first had that happen to me... Then, the infamous game master deal. I tried for so long to figure out the secret with Po's Poem in Chapter 6, to no avail. It always has seemed to me that the programmers were trying to have some kind of feature that can be unlocked by correctly naming it, but they forgot to finish writing it in the game. That has annoyed me forever... Can anybody else relate?

I had a similar annoyance (and still do, really) with the fact that after the transition of Chapter 6 to Chapter 7...you still have all those hearts you just filled up...but they've been knocked down to only 3 full hearts. NO GOOD!!!

My least favorite thing would be time traveling in ST2. A game called StarTROPICS should mostly take place in the tropics. Not everywhere else but the tropics. That's part of the reason I've only replayed that a few times as opposed to the countless times playing ST1.

I always get mad when I have medicine or other items and lose them because I finished the level.

I always get mad when I have medicine or other items and lose them because I finished the level. Add that one to my list too MJ... Though, at the same time, that might have made the game too easy in some parts, and would DEFINITELY make the game too easy for advanced players... Oh, add this next one under the DUH! category: I wish both games were longer...

Oh, add this next one under the DUH! category: I wish both games were longer... Don't we all wish ST was longer. I remember when I looked on the internet on info about ST2 before I got it and noticed that there were 9 chapters this time. I got really exciteds only to find out that Chapter 1 wasn't much of a chapter it was more of an intro.

i think the most annoying thing is the lack of publicity...however, i would probably kill myself if ST became an over-used pile of nuts like a lot of NES games have become...the next preppy b!tch i see with SMB as their cell ringtone is getting gutted....ehehe sorry...im an angry person XD

I just remembered one thing that always irritated me. When you're really low on health you have that beep to remind you. Well it would beep every second or so and that was no problem but then it would beep every time you jump and attack as well. You already know you're dying and the game just keeps reinforcing that you suck by beeping on jumps and attacks. I hate that.

You already know you're dying and the game just keeps reinforcing that you suck by beeping on jumps and attacks. I hate that. How could I have completely forgotten that one!? In ST2, it's a lot more noticeable and worse, however, than in ST because its louder and has a higher pitch that gets to ya (or me at least) a lot quicker... At second thought though, for me, it wouldn't be ST without that infamous beep. It's one of the very few games I've ever played that has that kinda thing happen when you're low on health like that, and it's something you don't easily forget...

I guess the beep is the only annoyance i can think of, except for the sound effects in st2. I think they used a new sound chip of some kind in the cartridge for st2 if i can remember right...

The difficulties, followed by the beeping noise.

The beeping noise is key, it adds to the frustration. Think about it this way, when you're hurt, it's harder to fight well--the shrill beeping noise makes it harder to concentrate.
My least favourite thing is that there isn't more--can't wait for a ST3 (keep it up, gellin!)
