I think I found out what Windapple was talking about MJ. Check out the following thread: p197.ezboard.com/fstartropicsfrm1.showMessageRange?topicID=25.topic&start=1&stop=25Going through the many threads there again, I see that history tends to repeat itself much! Many of the same topics we have had on this forum, along with ST3 ideas and different discussions between members, were talked about or mentioned before. This really shouldn't be surprising, with there only being so much you can discuss in reference to one particular game, and just a matter of time before one starts repeating theirself... Then again, maybe we all just have those special, Latin, forget-things bananas in our ears... ;D

Regarding my first post it dosn't really make sense why Nintendo wanted Windapple to stop. I kind of wanted to know that.
P.S. I just wanted to make another Startropics thread. If it wasn't for the fun game thread this board would be as dead as............well you get the point.

Regarding my first post it dosn't really make sense why Nintendo wanted Windapple to stop. I kind of wanted to know that. They might have said that he didn't go through the necessary copyright/terms of use protocol to make a "new" ST 3 game. They might have been picky about him using the ST name and idea without getting their permission first... UGH, I hate big business... Most definitely agreed (I've said before that Off Topic tends to be the busier than the regular ST section before). When I'm actually able to think up of more DECENT trivia questions, I'm hoping the ST section will pick up again. Or, instead, it just may when one of us thinks of some interesting ST related topic to debate about *thinking wheels start turning*...

If that is true..
1- How did Nintendo even find out about it?
2- How come Gellin and Matt haven't gotten e-mails telling them to stop?

Yeah I remember this. It was just Windapples attempt to make a ST3 fan game just like myself and Matt. He's the one that actually started it all with the fan games. I saw his and thought it was a good idea and that's when I started to make my own thinking I could do better than him. I don't know what he did to get a letter from Nintendo though telling him to stop. Whether that's true or not or whether he just was too busy to keep working on it I still question.
I'm still going to work on my game no matter what though. And if the slim chance that they ever say something to me to stop (which I highly doubt unless they found out I was profitting from this game) I would just change the graphics around and change the main characters name. Then magically, it's a new game with nothing to do with the ST brand.

(which I highly doubt unless they found out I was profitting from this game) Are you saying that as in if you were profitting or that you are?

I was just throwing an idea out there, maybe Windapple will fill us in on the full details the next time he logs in on here...

Interesting what attention is payed to such an old topic. Anyway, my fault was asking Nintendo if I could do. They replied that I should stop any activities in this direction. Fan pages are allowed, fan games aren't. I think that they will publish this as a "classic" game for the upcomming revolution, otherwise they wouldn't be so concerned about it.

Thats to bad. It's dumb that they made you stop because it's not like it would stop people from getting ST on Revoultion.

That shouldn't really stop any production of a fan game...they just don't need to find out about it
