I sent an E-mail to nintendo and this is what I wrote Dear Nintendo I was wondering why you decided to discontinue the STARTROPICS series! Alot of people really like the series you can see for your self at: startropics.proboards41.com/and this is a fan site created for startropics! www.classicgaming.com/startropics/I really think it was a bad idea to end the startropics series because with the new systems it would be neat to see startropics in 3-D! I'm saying this for me and all of the startropics fans PLEASE MAKE A STARTROPICS 3!!!

The reply was
Hello,
At this time, another game in the Star Tropics series has not been announced for release. You never know what the future might hold, though, so keep checking our web site (www.nintendo.com) for the latest information.

I have a theory. It may be a decent theory...or it may be crap. I'll let you make the decision:
Nintendo is releasing the two original ST games on the Revolution for download so that they can get a response to how popular it might be to the people who buy the Revolution. If they get a good response to it...then they might start work on a sequel.

It's actually quite a good theory and I agree that might be the reason (or as somone else said they might just bring it back because it a pure nintendo game)But i'm going to be right there supporting your theory so I will definitally buy Revoultion and download ST 1 & 2!!! P.S. I own every Nintendo system so I wouldn't miss out on REV or forget about STARTROPICS

I want to get a Revolution also... I don't have an Xbox, GC, or PS2. I am planning to buy a system from this next wave of consoles, but I don't really want a PS3 or Xbox 360. I have NES, SNES and N64, so a Revolution would be a nice addition. Backwards compatibility is the main thing that attracts me to it.

I'll probably buy a Revolution as well. I'll buy a PS3 definitely because I've been a big fan of the PS2 and the next wave definitely has some potential, but Revolution will definitely be in my arsenal as well...mainly in hopes that they'll make a 3rd ST game... lol

That's a standard email reply from nintendo.com; I've had it many times before. Although, once a lady from nintendo.com actually wrote a personal reply, and she said that she remembered the game, but there was nothing going to happen with it in the future that she knew of. (those were in the days of old though, when she said that. Either way, Nintendo seems to have forgotten about it.) I don't have faith in a 'Family Guy' effect to happen with StarTropics and the Revolution.

I mean, look at Family Guy. The new season sucks in comparison to the original three, because the creators removed all the obscure humor from it (which was the only thing that made it stand out in the crowd), and turned it into a bunch of fart jokes and references to Star Wars and the evil monkey in Chris' closet...okay, I'm done ranting

Optimistically, I'm gonna say NOA is releasing ST I and II on the REV for the whole response to ST deal, and see maybe if a sequel would be finacially reasonable. But realistically, I think it's just because NOA made it, and they decided they were just gonna release all the games they made themselves for the NES on the REV, which would have included the ST's. Hopefully my realism turns out to be unrealistic, but only time will tell...

I highly doubt this is all a part of operation STIII. However...
With all the games they release, they'll probably observe sales (downloads?) and consider bringing back a few that have outstanding support. We should focus on getting our friends and other Revolutionists to get the ST Roms, and hope Nintendo notices a demand for our beloved series.
