Well first I'd like to apologize for my vulgarity. I was a bit frustrated at the time. Without further ado, I restarted and heres what it looks like at the moment. Its a bit more pastel colored and there is less detail but i kinda like it this way. What do you guys think? Warning: Possible large bandwith use I'd like to think its a bit better than my last, my photoshop skills have improved, as my sig hopefully shows.

Hey, I think that's pretty d**n awesome if you ask me. I'm almost tempted to make that my desktop image on my computer. It'll remind me of warm summers while there's a foot of snow on the ground and the daily highs are no better than 19 degrees... *Sigh*
Ah yes, my thoughts. I love how you used the Asterisk as a compass rose, that was a creative little idea. My guess is that you used an effect filter in Photoshop to give the water that glassy but uneven look, and that was a really good choice. My guess is that when it came down to the REALLY little islands, the strain of having to pay so much attention to detail must have really been a pain to work with. But you got the job done, and nicely at that!
And for the record, I thought the "procrastination is like..." saying you posted there was hilarious. I have no shame.

This looks far superior to your original, no offense meant by that, either. Your islands look more realistic without the various village pieces showing at the moment. They seem to glow, however, so you may want to tone the brightness down a little if you do decide to add in villages and such.
I also found your saying to be most humorous, rather than offensive.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. And I dont mind about the last one, looking back it was better in my head than it actually was. The water was actually really simple. I just used a couple shades of blue, rendered some clouds on the background, and applied the Ocean Ripple effect (who woulda guessed ). As for the glow, I was trying to make it look like shallower water, kinda like in this picture . Heres something I noticed after I posted it. Some of the islands like Miracola have a blurred edge but like Howdoyudocola and its surrounding islands is more defined. Which do you think looks better? ....and yes.....the smaller islands were a pain, specifically the Howdoyudocola area, I hated it.

Forget the Hollywood mess. If I was host, I'd have Wheel tape on C-Island. :)

I did get a laugh out of your little blurb too Matt (oh d**n, that sounds horrible what I'm referencing too), but it was just out of left field. The reactionary shock I had was worth it's weight in gold (along with the ensuing laughter)... Nice pic BTW too! My Paint skills have improved tremendously, so eventually I could get around to doing something like that and make it look comparably good... but... it would just take.... 10 times the amount of time... Paint: Not too efficient, but dummy-friendly...
