Hey gellin! Do you plan to update your startropics game! It starts off great and with a few more rooms and a boss that would make a really good first level for startropics 3!

Glad you like it. Yes I plan to work on it eventually. Don't really know when though. Right now I just moved across the country and started a new job so I have to get all settled in. We're using a different program at work called Macromedia Director that I might be able to use to create a better version of ST3 once I gain some more knowledge of it. It's gonna happen but I don't know when

Cool! It's good to know that you didn't give up on your fan game but I'd understand if you didn't have time for it

Good to know that you haven't abandoned this project. It really has a lot of great potential!

Is it just me, or did the tenure at the old board seem so... long ago? Another thing, it seems as if, with respect to this board's topics, that we've sorta, well, repeated the same topics MANY Times! Weird, huh, unless you believe in the whole "cycle of time" theory like I do. BTW, going through it, I found my first post, a few days before X-MAS, and I remember now how I thought that finding a ST message board was like the internet's Christmas present to me. *sniff* *sniff*

I know this topic is probably dead but I had post in it anyways.
I am also making a fan-game. I work on it from time to time along with a few other fan games I've been designing. Just thought you all might be interested.

Interesting... What program are you using to create it? Do you have any of it completed, and if you do, can you put up some screen gabs of it so we can check it out?

Here's a Screenshot There's only so far one small room for testing. So far Mike can move in all directions, fire his weapon in all directions and he's able to jump (But not able to fire a weapon while jumping yet.) It move's pretty simmlar and works simmilar to the Startropics 2. I just have to go work on getting Mike to be able to jump up onto higher platforms, and have him fire a weapon while jumping.

Looking good. Keep it up. I enjoy the competition. It helps me get motivated so I actually work on my game. What are you using to make this game with?

Well I was orignally going to do it in VB, but I decided to give Gamemaker 6 a try because I heard a few people talking about it before and it had it's own programming language so I decided to give it a shot to see what the language was like.
Acctuly just awhile ago, I got the jump code to do the basic jumps, now I have to work on it working with higher terrain like in ST2. I got a small part of the platform code to work, but incorrectly.

Very nice indeed! I actually liked a lot of the graphics from ST2 more than from ST1, because of advanced technology and more NES knowhow on the VG makers parts...
Do you have any sort of plotline worked out yet? It'd be very interesting if we were to have two ST3 stories going at the same time (or just confusing, who knows)... ;D

Not yet. I want to get the game working first then worry about the polt line. It's going good so far. I haven't worked on it much. Though I need to free up some time to work on it (Probably not this month ) and add a few more things.
