Ok....we all know Wikipedia isn't always the most reliable source of info, but it lists Startropics as a release title for the NES mini that is coming out next month.
As seen in the past with Nintendo, this occasionally means that a full game is upcoming, or at least in dev. Could Zoda have returned, now in a 3d engined game? Or am I just wishfully hoping?

Unfortunately I think that a case like Pit being included in Smash Bros. is a little bit different than StarTropics being included in the NES Mini. Nintendo was likely just looking for some good first-party games to fill the console with, and then remembered that StarTropics was a thing and decided to include it. Unless people decide to rally in the streets and demand a new StarTropics game after playing it on the NES Mini, I doubt that its inclusion in the console will really do much to change the fate of the series.
You've got me thinking though, I wonder what they will do for Chapter 4 and the letter. Perhaps something like they did with the Virtual Console release? In this day and age I suppose it would be pretty surprising if they actually included a booklet with the console which contained instructions for each of the games, it will probably all be digital.
