Hey I created an account a while ago but forgot to post an introduction.
DarkTerrex, call me Terrex or DT if you want to shorten it.
I speedrun both ST and ST2, neither are my main games of speedrunning, but my secondary series that I picked up.
I'll gladly answer any questions regarding myself and what I know about the game or speedrunning or what have you.

Hey there, Terrex! Glad to see you coming forward on the forums! I'm sure there are plenty of people with questions about the speedrunning side of the ST series, as it's a game that, not too long ago, I would have considered a speedrunnable game.

Welcome!
I'm very interested in speedrunning the game. Or at least, I'd love to join people here on twitch in december. I'm a complete noob when it comes to streaming, but I think I can achieve solid times if I put my mind to it.
I have a question.
I heard that there are specific enemies one must defeat in order for a door to open. Is this true? Is there a particular hint to know which enemies open the doors faster?
(Take the second room full of slugs in Coralcola cave in ST1. Sometimes I can open the door by defeating 2 slugs, while other times I open the same door by defeating them all).

Forget the Hollywood mess. If I was host, I'd have Wheel tape on C-Island. :)

Not to speak on his behalf, but DT has also speedrun Wizards & Warriors, Mega Man 6, Strider, and other games (currently trying to do Whomp 'Em I believe too). So, if any of these interest you, DT would be a knowledgeable resource.
