Haha, wouldn't that be awesome. It seems like every time a new Nintendo console comes out everyone gets their hopes again, and why not? With all of the other series they have brought back, maybe StarTropics will someday finally make its return! The thing that I've felt has held StarTropics back is that it was never released in Japan, so if there ever was going to be a StarTropics 3 we would definitely see the first two games released in Japanese on the eshop first to build up some hype, since I highly doubt in this day and age that Nintendo would release a game in North America but not Japan. We can always dream though! ;D

Though the fact that StarTropics was an English only release killed any hopes of ST coming back, Retro is a US development team which brings the possibility of StarTropics to the front burners.
We all know Nintendo of Japan basically don't know StarTropics exists, but this is our only chance for it to come back. With Retro having strong ties to Nintendo, developing games of main Nintendo franchises, it has a slim, but wider chance then ever.

I would hope this is true, but who knows. This kind of rumor surfaces every 5 years or so, and something could be confused with ST's release on the virtual console, or a rogue developer trying to stir up something about his personal favorite game. /Yet I'm still waited with baited breath and keeping my fingers crossed...

For what it's worth, no one has contacted me yet about trying to get their domain name back yet... I would expect that most companies would acquire the domain so that people can access it soon after the announcement.
I hope I'm wrong though. It's exciting to think about regardless.

That's a very good point, gellin. I would assume that a company trying to get a StarTropics game out in the open and to the public would probably want a domain like StarTropics.com all to themselves.
Where I don't want to see your site go by the wayside to someone else...I kinda do. 0:)

Very good point indeed. Though, they could be going for something like "StarTropicswiiu.com," "startropicsvideogame.com" or some variation thereof. Who knows...

So this week, I've heard Nintendo is "supposedly" gonna have some surprises at E3 (some in the form of demos). What are people's personal odds on a passing mention of ST (and/or if there's a ST3 in the works)?

I think they're responsible for the new Donkey Kong game.

I think they're responsible for the new Donkey Kong game. If it's Donkey Kong I'm going to be mad. They just did that like 3 years ago, so why do they have to say "An IP that no one thought anyone dared to touch" And yet it's already been touched, BY THE SAME COMPANY 3 YEARS AGO? That's like saying I'm making something we never had in a long time for dinner, pizza, even though we just had it yesterday! What false hype.

Yeah...yet another sad and depressing day for StarTropics. Donkey Kong? Really? But yes...Megaman in the new SSB will should be pretty cool, so long as they do him better than he was in Marvel vs. Capcom.
