Here is a fun game that I thought everyone might enjoy! Basically I will show an image of a room from the first StarTropics game (I might start to throw in some from the second game eventually if this takes off) and all that you need to do is tell me what level that room is from (either with the actual dungeon name, or just by stating the chapter and dungeon number [so 3-4 would be the fourth dungeon in Chapter 3])!
Of course it would be much too simple if I just posted a plain picture taken straight from the actual game. This game is going to require you to recognize the level by design alone, and the image shown will just be the very basic layout of the room. Also, the colour code will remain the same regardless of what colours the level used in the game to prevent some answers from being super obvious.
Only what is visible immediately after a room is entered is shown (so no invisible tiles or switches). Also, no items or enemies are shown (the only exception to this rule is that I will show if there is a treasure chest).
Here are what the various colours represent:
Light/Dark Brown - Walls
Light Green - Grass or other type of floor that Mike can walk on
Dark Green - A tile that Mike can jump on (this means any type of tile, including sinking)
Blue - Water, lava, hole, or other hazard that will kill Mike if jumped into
Red - Treasure Chest
Purple - An object that Mike cannot walk on that is not a wall
Yellow - Stairs or Spaceship teleporter
(More colorus may be added later on if required)
It would be cool if people didn't use maps to figure out the answer, and instead relied on their memory of the game. If people are having trouble with a certain image I can always start to give out hints.
I'm not sure yet if I'm going to keep score or if it will be just for fun. Also please feel free to make your own, maybe eventually we can take turns and the person who guesses correctly will post the next picture.
Now, let's get started! ;D
