You must of downloaded the old game. Gellin is making a new one which is also on the first page of this thread. (you can't walk off the tiles in the new game)

Ok the new demo is up and ready. A fairly small update that includes:
- Yoyo collisions with enemies - Enemy taken damage and dying - Made it so that you flash when hit like in ST1 - Minor bug fixed that would allow you to walk onto the water when certain actions were taken

Yeah I noticed that too. I looked at the real game and did notice that the enemies and Mike are not exactly aligned with the grid but rather higher than what I have them at. I suppose I should probably fix that since it makes the game a lot easier. Glad you like it though.
Edit: It actually will it 4 squares instead of 2

That'd be a cool thing to have for a special weapon or something...kinda like the Super Laser in ST1. Keep it in mind!
[EDIT]When you're jumping vertically to another tile...it doesn't look like Mike is catching any air. Is there any way to fix this??? Other than that, it looks really good. Keep up the great work![/EDIT]

Definitely making progress with that! Keep it up! That special weapon idea is a good one S2H, you should think about that Gellin.

I have thought of lots of things to. I draw startropics related things on paper somtimes. If it's not to complicated for you to add them in your game I could tell you them.

Well how complicated it is really depends on what you want me to do. I'm always open to suggestions. You can either post them here in this thread or PM them to me if you want to keep them secret. If I like them, I'll put them in regardless of how complicated it is. I'm mostly limited on what I can do not by the programming, but by the graphics. I would like to emulate the original game as closely as possible before I go adding new stuff however.

I just updated the demo. The only new thing is the fix from yesterday about hitting 4 squares with your yoyo instead of 2.
Secondary weapons aren't really a priority right now but I will keep specials weapons in mind.
Good call on the vertical jump. I'll see what I can do to make it looker more like the original.
Personally, I think that jump attacks need to be changed. For example facing upwards and attacking goes 2 squares. Attacking at the peak of a jump causes it to go 3 squares. It's like that for all directions and I am going to fix that before I move on to something else. That might be a rather difficult thing to change, I'm not sure though.
Keep those comments coming... I appreciate both the good and the bad.
