Forget the Hollywood mess. If I was host, I'd have Wheel tape on C-Island. :)

So has anyone been keeping up with E3 this week? There were some major announcements today, mostly regarding the new Nintendo console (WiiU is what it's called...), and the new Zelda. I'll reserve some of my thoughts for later. Anybody here have any thoughts? There's still over half the week left, so there's plenty of time for stuff to happen, but it looks to be another interesting year (but when is it ever not?).

I check Kotaku regularly for my gaming news updates and they definitely haven't been cheap on the E3 info. While I would like to be excited about the WiiU, at this point I don't see anything about it that really interests me, and in fact see a few things about it that I'm not really a fan of. Maybe it's because I'm still so attached to the classic consoles and their simplicity that I don't really care for the new controller or features that the WiiU boasts (just like how I thought the Wii was really neat at first although over time I started to grow bored of the motion controls and how every game had to include a motion gimmick in some way). But who knows, maybe it will grow on me over time. My favorite announcement so far is that the fourth Professor Layton game is being localized to North America, as many people were worried that the fourth and fifth games weren't going to be localized and that they were going to skip right to localizing the sixth which is for the 3DS. Other than that I don't think that too much has caught my eye this year, maybe it's because I'm already quite happy with that games that I still have to play the the moment .

I've followed bits and pieces. Obviously I'm intrigued by the WiiU and it's announced Zelda game...along with the Mario game for 3DS. I'm not sure how willing I'll be to drop a few hundred dollars on a new system quite yet, though...

TBH I'm a little disappointed. I really would like to see higher quality original games, but it seems the name of the game right now is sequel. I like finding those diamonds in the rough. Like Resonance of Fate for 360, not a great game, but its got its own style. Same with Portal and Portal 2, though those are pretty d**n good games.
