This issue was addressed with the Wii VC release of StarTropics. On the page containing the infamous aforementioned letter of the digital manual, there was an icon of a bucket of water at the bottom. When clicked on, it showed a short animation of a piece of paper being dipped into the water and the words "frequency 747 mHz" showed up above the icon.

HOLY CRAP GUYS! I don't know how I never found this, but I just watched a 9 minute video of a guy who created a medley of StarTropics and Zoda's Revenge music using the creation system in Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock. You need to check this out...he did a fantastic job with it. The video can be found here.

Hey there, Terrex! Glad to see you coming forward on the forums! I'm sure there are plenty of people with questions about the speedrunning side of the ST series, as it's a game that, not too long ago, I would have considered a speedrunnable game.

So in regards to this, Zodastone, I have created a Twitch channel for this site. It is StarTropicsDotCom. There is also a YouTube channel poised and ready to have some videos exported/uploaded to it. I can get you streaming rights to the Twitch channel, if you want. I don't know if Twitch allows you to dual-stream...but if it does, you're more than welcome to have streaming rights. Just let me know in a PM what you need for it (as I am still a bit new to channels allowing streaming by other users). The other option could be to play host to the other streamers. Those of us that have the login info for the page can easily figure out when the ST streamers go live and then host the stream through the channel. I'm still playing with ideas, so I'm open to lots of suggestions/critiques.

I like this idea. Perhaps we can come up with a joint ST.com Twitch channel that we can all broadcast from at different parts of the day/month whenever we get the chance. Wouldn't take much effort...just need to have some permissions from gellin to use the ST.com name on the channel/account and perhaps a YouTube channel to upload these videos to when they are done? This idea literally just popped into my head, so I haven't ironed out any details about it yet.
Thoughts?
[EDIT] Maybe even just a channel that can host our own separate channels while we stream. The bigwigs here at the boards can all have moderator priveleges to host and unhost the channels necessary whenever someone goes live. Thoughts on this as well, please. [/EDIT]

So I decided to play a little ST this morning seeing as I have the day off with no school work to get done. I fired up XSplit, logged into Twitch and streamed about 40 minutes or so of the game. Got through most of Chapter 3 before my controller really started acting up on me, resulting in a game over in the Hermit's tunnel. Here's a link to the video! I talked through most of it...trying to give some of my own insight and thoughts while playing. The video!

Our fellow Islander, zodastone, had the privilege to go to St. Paul, Minnesota and livestream a speedrun of our beloved game to the world! He achieved a time of 1:08:01 and provided some excellent commentary along with his support on the couch. Check out the archived recording here. The more we see exposure in large public events like this, the more chances someone important will notice the game and our community!

Since 1-4 are already answered, and 6 and 7 are as well...I know that 5 is "It's delicious, but nothing happens" And you stumped me with 8 as well.

1: I think it would have been modern-day California but I'm not sure what the era-specific answer is...unless it is also California 2: Quite obviously, it would be Michelle. 3: No clue... 4: I don't think I understand fully what you're trying to get at here...
IN OTHER WORDS 5: Bananas in the ears? 6: Wow! You've done it! 7: Super Nova...and yes: WUT 8: Sub-C

1: I believe there are, in fact, 9 big hearts throughout the 2 games. Here are their (I believe) locations: ST1 Hearts: Chapter 2 (on lighthouse island) Chapter 3 (on the way to the Cemetary) Chapter 5 (in the tunnel after the Organ) Chapter 6a (on one of the islands in the Island Maze) Chapter 6b (in the tunnel before the Big Rock)
ST2 Hearts: Chapter 3 (in the Monkey Maze) Chapter 4 (in the sewers) Chapter 5 (in a cave blasted by TNT) Chapter 6 (on the first island before the Temple Maze)
2: The MINIMUM number of Rods of Sight used is 4. 3: Three times in Chapter 6, once in Chapter 7
As for the Gold Nuggets...I've got no clue.

Given the new hype (and trailer!), I will add to my list Fallout 4. Especially since it takes place in Boston.
