Yes, you can! Also, if you're lucky enough to have gotten your grubby hands on an NES Classic...it's in there too!!

So, I have been super obsessed with Dungeons & Dragons lately and had a thought: What might some of the locations from StarTropics look like in a D&D setting? They'd be perfect!!! So naturally, I re-imagined C-Island as it may look in a D&D campaign. Feast your eyes!

So recently, I've become slightly obsessed with my newfound hobby: Dungeons & Dragons. Does anyone else here play? If you do...what kind of character do you like to play? Have you ever DM'd a game? What's your favorite campaign that you've played/run?
Currently, myself and a group of 5 others are playing through the 5th Edition's starter campaign: Lost Mine of Phandelver. I'm playing a high-elf sorcerer named Azzariah. We also have a half-orc cleric, a dwarven fighter, a human rogue, and a halfling bard.

WOW!! What a find! I never knew about this. Makes me wonder what kinds of other things can be found in other chapters of the game in Review Mode.........

Soooooooooo...has anyone around here been blessed by the gaming gods and actually gotten their hands on one of these lovely machines? ?? If you have, let us know of your experiences so far (especially if you've played some StarTropics on it which...it goes without saying...should have been the FIRST game you fired up!)!

I think the whole point of this is for the accessibility of it. Setting up a Raspberry Pi and then getting an emulator/games to work on it takes quite a bit of knowhow and patience, where the NES Mini will be plug & play, and it will always work. And $60 for the thing, if you compare that price ($2/game) to the prices of every listed game on the current Virtual Console (which is $5/game), is more than half of what it would cost to buy them on the VC, AND you get a cool classic-style controller. I think that, yes, this is definitely being marketed towards the 20/30-somethings who grew up with an NES (myself included), but nostalgia is a HUGE market these days, and I think this particular piece of nostalgia will be very difficult to find come Christmas time...

I haven't heard of TieTuesday...I'll be sure to reach out to him and offer an invitation to join our community! Are you interested in speedruns of ST? Some names to look up on YouTube include ZodaStone, DarkTerrex, and DarkwingDuck, as they've all done speedruns of at least the first game, and ZodaStone holds the current world record!

Welcome to the Island, francisco! Might I ask whose LP you watched? There are a bunch of them out there, and we like to know where people get their doses of StarTropics from!

Okay guys...everyone knew this kind of thing was bound to pop up in here.
Who plays Pokemon GO? Are you Valor, Mystic, or Instinct? Any reason to why you chose that particular team? Who's your most powerful Pokemon so far? Have you defeated/taken over any gyms?
I play for Team Valor...mainly because I tend to lean towards fire-themed things and Valor embodies that with Moltres as their symbol. My most powerful Pokemon so far is a Vaporeon with CP 671, with a CP 558 Pidgeot trailing behind.
I haven't been able to try gym battles yet, but tomorrow I think I'll get my chance!
