The popular gaming trivia blog and web series, DidYouKnowGaming?, released a new episode talking about miscellaneous trivia for various Nintendo Entertainment System video games, and they actually included a few references to trivia about StarTropics and Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II in said episode. The episode in question is linked below, and the StarTropics information is from the 4:35 mark to the 6:42 mark if you are interested in checking them out. Otherwise, these references still stand out as great exposure for the game series in general:

Prominent gaming YouTuber Jared Knabenbauer, a.k.a. ProJared, has released a new review video today, talking about his first ever playthrough of the first StarTropics game. Just in case, need to mention the video is filled with major spoilers for the game. Check out his review in the following video linked below: I find it kinda funny he referred to the game in the title as "Nintendo's Dark Souls". This is great exposure for the game in general though. Also, hopefully, ProJared might decide play the sequel in the future.

It really felt like a reskinned StarTropics fan game, despite whatever the developers' intentions were. I really hope they include enough originality in this game to make it stand out rather than be a clone game.

This is an impressive project. I can see many of the resemblances to both The Legend of Zelda and StarTropics. Although, the dungeon design and sound effects may be a tad too similar for comfort. I wonder if Nintendo will be okay with this game in general.
Keep up the good work, although I probably aren't going to be able to support it financially since I lack money to spend these days.

Episode 28 of the Nintendo Power Podcast is finally available! It's about one hour long, but they apparently dedicated roughly only 16 minutes discussing StarTropics itself, as the podcast mostly revolves around the recent launch of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. We don't learn anything new about the game, but it is nice that the game is getting the exposure it deserves. The StarTropics segment begins around the 34:41 mark in the YouTube video posted below:

Much to everyone's surprise, Nintendo of America has announced that the upcoming 28th episode of their Nintendo Power Podcast show will focus solely on none other than everyone's favourite 1990 NES title StarTropics! No, seriously, it is!
No date has been set for Episode 28, but it is hopefully coming very soon. Are you guys excited that the game is getting more exposure lately?!

UK-based news site Nintendo Life recently asked their readers to rank every Nintendo Entertainment System game available thus far for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, which is more than 50 game titles at the time of writing, including StarTropics. Nintendo Life has created a page to compile the entire list of NES titles as ranked from lowest to highest. At the time of writing, StarTropics has been ranked at 14th place of the 53 titles available as of May 2020. Due to the dynamic nature of the list, the games ranked can automatically move up or down as more people rank these games. Check out the full list here. You can find Nintendo Life's game page for StarTropics here. An account is required to rate games listed on the website; registration is free.

It makes sense this is a reference that is most likely a translator taking creative liberties. It wouldn't make sense to include a reference in the original Japanese script if no StarTropics game was ever officially released in Japan.

How did the game manage to get covered by this magazine even though it was never officially released in Japan?

Welcome to the C-Island Forum! We haven't been as active lately, considering we're such a small cult following community, and there is not much going on in the world of StarTropics at the moment. In any case, have fun checking out the place and joining in discussions.

It turns out the Nintendo Switch release of StarTropics failed to include any official means to find out the correct frequency to start up Uncle Steve's submarine, unlike the Virtual Console releases on the Wii and Wii U which included digital copies of Uncle Steve's infamous secret message in his letter to Mike. GameXplain even addressed this issue earlier today in this new following video: How did Nintendo manage to mess up this iconic part of the game with this release?!

I'm really liking the remix you made for the Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II dungeon theme! Keep up the good work!

I have been personally hoping they would represent StarTropics in some way in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They didn't even include any Spirits based from the games! I wonder if this has to do with the fact the games were never officially released in Japan to begin with.

Nintendo has earlier confirmed its March 2019 offerings for the Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online app, which is exclusively available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. On March 13, 2019, Japan will be getting three games: Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and The Blade of Light, and Yie Ar Kung-Fu. The rest of the world, however, is getting Kid Icarus and StarTropics!
Are you guys excited that the game is finally going to be playable on the Nintendo Switch at no additional charge?! Here's hoping they offer Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II as well very soon!
