One of my nerdy obsessions is the 80s cartoon Transformers. It's also been a popular comic book and toy line for over 20 years. On July 4th, 2007, a live action Transformers movie is being released, by Dreamworks Pictures--produced by Stephen Spielberg, Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy, and directed by Michael Bay. Transformers will be bigger than the Spider-Man films. I am also on the staff of the Toronto TransformersCon, it's an annual convention which will be held in its 5th edition on April 29th 2006. It's a lot of fun, even if you aren't a huge fan. It would be cool to see any of you there, we could talk about StarTropics and you could enjoy the show, which is for all ages. Also, if you have any younger siblings or friends, or friends who are Transformers fans, I bet you can find your 2007 Christmas gifts for them here, since at that time the Transformers popularity will boom. Anyway, just thought I'd let you guys know, even though some of you live far away. Visit www.transformerscon.com for more details.

Forget the Hollywood mess. If I was host, I'd have Wheel tape on C-Island. :)

I was never a huge fan of Transformers when I was younger, but I watched it now and then. My cartoon time was spent between looney tunes, nickelodeon, TMNT, smurfs, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. I've always thought about if there was any way for us to have an ST convention, but as of yet, because we all live on different ends of the country (and in some cases world), I don't how it would be possible... Oh well, maybe when we're all rich video game producers it'll happen... LOL

The best you can hope for is a general gaming convention with a StarTropics booth.

I would like to go but like my teacher says there is always a BUT.....so I would like to go BUT unfortuneatly I don't have anyway of getting there. It would of been neat seeing some one from the forums but (now this is where STM gets to be happy because his parents arn't the only ones like this) of course if I was able to go my parents would be upset because they would know the main reason I wanted to go was to talk to you. And then they would say "You know yopu should never meet up with some one you talk to on the internet". I know you are not a bad person. Sorry I really would like to go . Maybe I will get lucky and I will make it somehow. P.S. Is it at the same place every year?

It's not at the same place every year, but this is the same place as last year. As long as we can book enough space at a reasonable cost, we'll probably try to use this space for years to come. But yeah, I can understand that your parents might feel a little uncomfortable. It's a pretty big event, you could try coming with a friend from school or something, maybe they can help get a ride. And you shouldn't meet someone from the internet, true, but there's other good reasons to make the trip. You're 15, it's about time you start rebelling for more freedom anyway lol I understand if you can't make it this year.

I'm actually 13. I accidentily picked 1990 for the year I was born. I wish there was someway to change that. Anyway thanks for being so understanding and when I learn to drive I will with no doubt come on down if it is at the same place as this year.
