I didn't like the part at the end of ST2 where Princess Mica and the other kids went back to their home planet. Sort of like Back To The Future 3, when Doc and Marty were no longer living in the same time period. Goodbyes are my weakness. Whenever I say goodbye to someone I love, not knowing when I'll see them next, it can make me cry.
But I digress. Another thing that I never figured out is - what's the point of the big apple that you find on one of the Islands? You eat it and nothing happens (there are also items like that on ST2, in the caves in San Francisco. I believe they had chicken nuggets. Of course, this sort of deviates from reality. I mean, a chicken nugget found in a cave that you had to blast open would not be edible. It would probably have shriveled up beyond recognition. Nothing happened, it says in the game? Yeah, right! Mike breaks his teeth trying to eat it and is hospitalized with a massive stomach ache from eating food that is about 150 years old! Gross! The apple, on the other hand, could have been left there by someone who had just left that room ten minutes ago, so it was probably OK.
Another thing that sort of annoyed me: In both games, whenever you lose a life, they set you a little too far back. I feel that you should start again in the same room in which you messed up. If, for some reason you couldn't advance any further, they should have some sort of evacuation option (like pushing pause and then select, like they do in a few other video games). Then, you'd start from the beginning of the maze.
Oh yeah, the low health beeping in both games can annoy the heck out of me, too. The Zelda games have that as well, but somehow, it doesn't seem as bad in those.

First off, welcome to the forum ulij!! I hope ya like it here. To comment on those apples (no pun intended, NOT ) and those nuggets, they were meant as a joke I believe, which didn't came off as funny to some as it did to others. I would guess that Mike would've had a bit of a common sense issue, as well, if he decided to eat a chicken nugget he found in a cave he blew up in the middle of an 1880's Old West desert... Next in line: I'm a HUGE BTTF fan (MY FAVORTIE MOVIE OF ALL TIME! ), so you just made my day Ulij (nice way to get brownie points being a new member... ). Nintendo, I believe, wanted to end the series with ST2 (due to lackluster sales of ST1, and no higher expectations for the sequel), and thus, ending the series with the Zodas being completely destroyed and having the Argonians return home would only be the appropriate ending, however tear-jerking it may be (and was for me... ).

You must be a big Wayne's World fan, too. I haven't heard many people say "NOT!" like that since the 20th century. That's cool, though, because back in the 1990s, I said "NOT!" all the time. In fact, I even remember saying it when I was playing "Startropics", when I got through a very short level. When I went through the exit, expecting there to be a second part of the dungeon and finding myself outside, I said, "Well that sure was tough - not!" (BTW, based on my signature, you've probably already guessed that I have a very photographic memory )

I never did that. I thought it was a skull from someone who couldn't swim, and tried anyway. So I kinda figured that it was someone who died adn I didn't want to follow.

Another thing I remember about ST2 I didn't like was the new "try your luck" signs. They didn't ever minus any lives! They should've been "get one or two lives" signs!

I came across a few of those every once and a while that would take away a life.

not for me! I almost always got the minus. However, my luck sucks. So I'm not surprised. :/

I know some people say that they have gotten a minus in ST2 but after getting 50 plus and no minus it makes me think its a glitch some games have.

Maybe there were two editions of the game... You know, that thought has crossed my mind before when playing ST and ST2. VG developers often do stuff like this, without ever letting the public know that a "2nd edition" with minor changes was released a certain amount of time after a game's original release. This is especially true with games that become really popular and sell A LOT very quick. Does anybody have any insight into this possibility?

It is possible. Zelda: Ocarina of Time had quite a few versions. The Limited Edition Gold Cartridge was the first. It had some interesting glitches that some of the later versions didn't have (or it was harder to get them to work).
