If we took potions, though, it would make the game a LOT easier. And that's not a good thing to do to StarTropics. Maybe it's better to leave it as it is.. Well, you were the one who brought up the idea. I'm just pitching an idea here. While I do think that carrying over potions would make things too easy, it's still something to think about. If they ever remake this game, I would really love for both games to have an extra dungeon, with an even harder boss! (Kinda like Weapons in Final Fantasy games). You'd really have to be hardcore material to defeat it. Where would they put an extra dungeon? You can't backtrack anywhere in StarTropics. It's just too linear for that sort of thing, and I don't think that ST should deviate from that linearity. Maybe as a bonus chapter for after the main game ends, though... Or a Boss Mode like in Megaman Xtreme 2 or Super Smash Bros Brawl Although STII already has such a concept, it could be fun seeing how fast Mike can trash all the bosses in one game. Better yet: Give Mike a single potion, a couple of weapons, and see how he can do on such limited resources.

If Japan was exposed to StarTropics I wonder how much they'd like the game.

Come to think of it... I haven't heard of the game being released in their Virtual Console...
And even if they did.. it'd still be Nintendo's final decision... Still, making this famous in Japan will be quite a task... You know what we need to do?
A StarTropics themed meme. If it's in japanese, then it's even better. Everyone loves memes, and Japan has tons of them. If we can somehow make a Japanese meme (such as a poorly translated line or something) people will start asking "what game is that from?" and eventually they'll play it.
Just a random shot in the dark, I guess... But I can't find many ways to make this western-oriented game appealing in Japan.

Yesterday, I got a message at Deviantart from a fan of StarTropics, saying how all my work made him regain his love for the series. He also told me that all my drawings + my PunchTropics video, made him want to buy Zoda's Revenge in the Virtual Console, and he did! This kind of news is alwawys great to hear! Since I've been promoting ST however I can, for a while now. I'm glad my work is slooowly persuading people to play ST & ZR. This has motivated me to make more! And I hope someday, the fandom will grow to noticeable proportions.. Gonna pick up my lazy a:) and work on my ST0 comic right NAO!!

*Thunderous Applause* Wonderful job shinigami. Keep up the good work. One fan at a time will be a key to ST's continuing exposure in the VG world.

Yes!
I gotta make my stuff easier on the eyes.. Black & White isn't really all that appealing.. But at least I can finally see some fruits of my labor. ;D
