Hey guys - I was wondering what software you recommend to record something on your computer. Let's say I wanted to record some ST3 footage with audio and save that out to a movie that I could put on youtube. Let me know what you all would use.

I used to use Camtasia Studio...but the most recent upgrade has made my version *cough* key-less...so to speak >.> I have a program called XSplit Broadcaster which is able to livestream your pc screen (or portions of it) to a livestreaming site such as Twitch.TV. There is an option within the program, however...to do what's called a "Local Recording" which, I think, just records the screen and allows you to export it directly to a video file on your harddrive. You can check it out here: www.xsplit.com

I use Bandicam for all of my computer screen recording needs and it works great. It does have a price tag of $39 though...
