I got your docking config. As long as you keep the Project panel docked, you shouldn't have any problems. If you undock it, it will crash in various ways. I'll fix it for the next build. Good find

Sounds good. Are there any game overs? It seems like I can run out of lives and just keep continuing. I did make a gameover screen with the cutscene editor but don't know how to implement it.
And about the cutscene editor. If you ever get the chance, you should add a preview cutscene option. It would make toggling the animation speeds much easier. Or maybe do away with the individual clips and make one video file that loops? It's pretty fun to mess with as is though.
All in all, the program is starting to work well.

No, there are no game overs yet. That's on my to do list. One intention of the cutscene editor was to make the game over screen so you've done as much as you can for now until I do some additional programming that will allow you to hook it up.
Regarding the cutscenes - in the level editor, if you have a cutscene open in a tab, you can go to the Project -> Player Current Cutscene in the menu in order to preview your cutscene.

There's a little glitch with the kick shoes (or sub weapons in general). If you get killed while you still have them in your inventory, you'll still have it in your inventory, but it can be use infinately (no numbers appear at the bottom of the weapons). That is until you pick it up again. here's a few screenshots depicting it: After i got killed: Picking up a laser gun when its still in my inventory (and fired a few shots): although its a bit cool, it also makes things a little too easy.

Not sure why, but anytime I open the editor and load a map, the room in question is completely blank. Every aspect, in the example and in my own submitted-game some years ago does the same thing.
When I try to click on the sprites tab, it freezes my computer for some reason, and I was only able to access it by rebooting in safe mode- they're completely blank and empty for everything in that tab.
I can play the current room which just shows up as pitch black in the editor, and when I load up the dungeons in the main STIII player they load exactly as they are supposed to, though.
The only thing I can think of is that when I looked into the folders was that all the images are set to open in Quicktime due to the type it ended as.
Is that natural or could that be what the screw up is?

deko - Cool weapon bug. That must have broke when I added Mica in. I'll fix it for the next release.
ZeedDragon - Did you move any of the files or folders from the directory that you installed it to?

Nope. It happened the last time I installed STIII some months ago as well. Here's a screencap of what I'm talking about, bug

Also about the glitch i found, its not just the sub weapons, any item that uses numbers on the dungeon gain unlimited uses if you die in the dungeon (for example, potions). as usual, a screenshot that shows it: number on the right is apparently how many times it was used, the 0 i think is how many you have (not sure)

Er... any idea? Maybe it's just something about Vista or one of the updates. I don't recall ever having trouble when I was working with XP.

Sorry Zeed, completely forgot about this. I can reproduce that error exactly the way your picture looks. I still believe it is something path related. Does this happen if you run the executable directly from the install directory? (The default is C:\Program Files\StarTropics III).

I can't seem to get the game to recognize the key board everytime I try to use it I get.
An error has occurred!
Source: mscorlib
Message: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index Stack Trace: at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentOutOfRangeException(ExceptionArgument argument, ExceptionResource resource) at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentOutOfRangeException() at System.Collections.Generic.List`1.get_Item(Int32 index) at ST3.AudioPlayer.playSFX(sfx sfxToPlay) at ST3.TitleScreen.handleStartButton() at ST3.TitleScreen.handleJumpButton() at ST3.Main.KeyboardDown(Keys keyPressed, Boolean fromJoystick) at ST3.Main.keyboard(Byte key, Int32 x, Int32 y) at Tao.FreeGlut.Glut.glutMainLoop() at ST3.Main.InitializeGame(Int32 areaIndex, Int32 roomIndex, Int32 cutsceneIndex) at ST3.Main..ctor() at ST3.Program.Main()
I know it's explained to use the options menu but I can't find it and if it's in the game program itself then I can't get to it because I can't seem to use my key board with the game.
Do you have any idea to fix this?

Hey SpartanCommander - it's not a problem with your keyboard. The game is trying to play a sound effect when you hit the keyboard button. Did you move some of the files around after you installed the game? I would suggest re-installing and then running it again to see if it fixes itself. Let me know if that works or not.

I never moved anything, However I did what you said and so far I got the same error.
Is their something that's not included in the basic download that involves the sound files? Maybe a patch or something that I'm over looking?
Either that or maybe some way to play without sound if that's what's causing the problem.

Gellin, are you going to post and/or fix the cumulative bug list for the next version?
Here the list of things I thought that are bugs and/or not working: -- Loading a cutscene when you load your project game. -- Exiting the dungeon in the first room (not the last room) does not exit back into a village or overworld. -- Weapons you picked up before losing a life still winds up present but doesn't show ammo capacity. -- There's no such thing as game over when Mike/Mica run out of lives. -- Mike/Mica disappears after going through a passable wall from one room to the next; same goes to a wide room exiting northeast to another room. -- Sometimes Mike/Mica jumps one extra step space after entering the next room regardless of entrance direction. This could accidentally land on something whether it's water or step trigger.
Suggestions: -- Mike/Mica needs to run faster like in STII. Slow response time needs to be tweaked. -- Need to add in the "solid star" item which makes Mike/Mica invincible for a short time.
