I'm just curious if anyone is adept at using a yo yo I can't even get one bounce myself. I'd like to be able to though for obvious reasons lol

I haven't tried using one in years although all of my past attempts to use one ended in failure. I could probably get the hang of it if a practiced for awhile though .

I tried for some time... but it ended miserably. I don't have the scars (physically) to prove it though...

I learned a few tricks in elementary school. It was a big fad at one point. But everything I knew was pretty basic, like around the world or Eiffel Tower. I don't think I have any yo yos any more though

I can use one; but I can only do basic tricks.

Then again Mike wasn't skilled with the yo yo per se either, it was his baseball training that allowed him to do what he did with it. Or maybe the chief literally meant there was some special power inside the yo yo itself. I lean towards Mike's feats being entirely due to his own skills myself but does anyone favor the other interpretation?

Ehh I think theres a good possibility the yo yo had some innate power of its own. At least thats my explanation for how it can hit monsters and still come back to him.

I do very basic tricks, but I have practiced yoyo attacks, believe it or not, lol. And I've managed to create a rapid-yoyo-throw attack. Kinda like 2 per second in succession.
Of course, realistically speaking, after a hit connects, the yoyo would bounce uncontrollably. XD So it wouldn't be that useful as a real life weapon, lol. Good for a single surprise attack and that's it.

My yo-yo skills extend to throwing the string down and watching the yo-yo sit there limply and not move. The fact that I could never get past that stage kind of dampened my interest in them. Huh, I had to re-read that 3 times since it got me confused. Anyways, I never really used a yo-yo that much, last time I used one was years ago and somehow I misplace it all the time. I couldn't really do tricks at all on it, only thing I could do was bounce it up and down, the basic principle of a yo-yo....

I used to have yo-yos, but I didn't really know any tricks.
I think one of the reasons why the main weapon was a yo-yo is so you can use it an infinite number of times because of the fact that it comes back to you. I mean, if you throw an axe/dagger/katana, it doesn't automatically come back to you.

I never thought of that, even weapons like a boomerang would be impractical for short ranges. Now we know from mechanics an infinite number of uses would require an infinite potential to perform.

I'm thinking Mike chained the weapons so that it would return to him (except the animation says it doesn't)... Oh well, I guess it's like Adventure Island where Master Higgins has an infinite supply of Axes, just like Mike has an infinite supplies of memento katanas from Marco Polo.
